Argh with a mix of squee

I always forget how hellishly busy town is on the last couple of weekends before Christmas, although I have to say the Post Office wasn't as busy as I expected. The mysterious package was from someone on wish_list who said she was going to send me some candy corn. It's a very heavy box though so I'm guessing she's put some other goodies in there too. I'm saving it for Christmas to open it *g*

Bought some hair dye so I can do my hair before Crimbo (or jacqui_hw can do it to be more precise). I don't even want to think about the hellish queues in Superdrug. I must have been in line for about half an hour, and I was carrying the heavy package which made things worse. I wouldn't have bothered but I needed toothpaste and shower gel too.

I'm not sure what Derek has planned for this afteroon but he was talking about going iPod shopping. Usually I love shopping for gadgets for other people but the crowds are just...argh! Ah well, I shall just have to wait and see what happens.

In the meantime I'm going to eat my lunch and watch this weeks Sarah Connor Chronicles

I was thinking the other day that from now on I'm only going to make Merlin icons with the episodes that are on DVD, just because the quality of caps I make from downloads is quite poor. I might even re-do the ones that I've already made so they can be prettier.

In other news I got my merlinadvent fic back from beta. I really want to get the hard copy of the third one finished by the end of the weekend. It's not due until the 19th but I am painfully aware that I haven't started my clexmas offering yet and that's going to be a long-ish one.

I have to share with you the cult TV sensation that is Peter Simon. I've mentioned before how Bid TV is our default channel when nothing else is on and it's mostly because of this guy. Watching him with nam_melon was what got me into this channel in the first place.

He is, quite obviously, drunk a lot of the time. Here's a couple of clips to demonstrate

This comment from the great dragon himself had me howling with laughter

Unfortunately it seems I have once again over-estimated the Young Warlock's commitment to his studies and my Cause. He has yet to learn the art of reaching across time and space to gather close the treasures of past and future.

Instead of simply calling forth a CD Player with appropriate power source, he admired the sheen and finish of the disc and strung it up as a pretty window hanging in Arthur's Chambers. According to Merlin himself it "Catches the light and things", casting a charming rainbow across the floors.

Sometimes I despair of him.
