Nearly There
Oct. 1st, 2020 05:19 pmFinally finished my mandatory training at work! So that's one less thing to think about. I don't want to curse anything but this week is the first time in ages that I feel like I'm actually keeping my head above water. It's Thursday and my inbox still has less than 20 emails in it, I've done my end of month report for the boss, my meeting agenda doc for next week is fully up to date.
Something inevitably terrible is going to happen any minute now...
This afternoon my best friend from uni texted to see if I want to have a socially distant dinner with her and my nephew tomorrow. I was a little wary but now she's explained the plan (drive separately to the drive through, park up somewhere and eat in our cars with the doors open so we can chat but be apart) I feel a lot more comfortable with the idea. I haven't seen either of them in person since March. We've facetimed a few times but that's it. I think it'll be nice.
In fandom news I only have 5 episodes of Lost Tomb 2 left to watch and the last few have been EXCELLENT! There has been much yelling on Twitter. I have to say that overall in terms of storyline Lost Tomb 2 has been the best of the ones that I've watched so far. There are a few bits that dragged a bit but overall there has been plenty of action, adventure and tombs filled with random traps and weird bugs.
( Spoilers for Lost Tomb 2 )
As much as I'm enjoying all the tomb raiding shenanigans I'm definitely ready for something else. Aside from watching Life on Mars all I've watched for the past several weeks has been various Lost Tomb shows. I'm looking forward to watching Mystic Nine with
madamoisellebon but I think I'm going to watch it alongside something else. Probably Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty.
Although watching Cheng Yi in that Lost Tomb 2 flashback has made me kind of eager to watch Love and Redemption. I'm not sure if that's available on any of the streaming sites with English subtitles yet though. I'll need to do some poking around. I've watched a bunch of modern stuff though so I think I'm ready to go back to something fantasy/historic.
