Jan. 1st, 2009 08:26 pmWell, it's that time of the year where I make my New Year resolutions.

lex_a_like threw down the gauntlet and suggested I challenge myself since NaNo is beyond me. So, my target is 100,000 words in 12 months. It might not seem like a lot to the more prolific of you but it's more than I've ever managed in the past. In 2007 my total word count was 93,000 and that was a struggle. Last year I only managed 38,500 so it will certainly be a challenge.
2. Lose weight/get fit. I've let myself go the past few months so I really need to start eating healthily again and go to the gym regularly. After I've eaten all my Christmas chocolate of course.
3. Sort out my job situation. I will almost certainly be made redundant some time this year. At the moment it's scheduled for August and unless I get offered the perfect job in the meantime I'm going to take the redundacy and then I'll need to start looking for something new.
4. Put enough in my savings account to cover moving house and my holiday to Italy.

Not today though. I did lots of writing yesterday so I'm having a day off. I shall go and watched the extras for Superman Returns and then maybe Blackbeard.
Back to York tonight. WHEE! Back to work tomorrow. Boo!
I woke up at 6am this morning having had a nasy dream about work where I'd made a huge mistake on something. Then when I eventually got to sleep I dreamed that Lionel Luthor was trying to make me pose as Lex's sister so he could make me his heir instead. Lex was really angry with me and I was trying to explain that I'd had nothing to with it.
Then, aparantly, I was Clark. Someone had kidnapped Lex and kept him chained up outside. I saved him and was trying to work out how to treat him for hyperthermia.

jedipirate got me a Mr Fantastic action figure for Christmas! He has loads of different *ahem* body parts so you can make him look all stretchy. EEEEE!!!
We had a great New Year.
When Jedi arrived we had some sandwiches and watched Dinner For One. It's a 20 minute long English play which they turned into a short film and it's a tradition to watch it in Germany. It's very funny!
We had fondu for dinner and then we went out onto Bill's balcony and watched the fireworks. It was amazing. The WHOLE city was setting them off, all at the same time. I took some video so I'll post that when I get home.
After that we went down and set off some fireworks of our own. I have photos and videos of that too :)
We had a mini snowball fight when the fireworks were finished and wrote silly things in the snow (I refused to take a pic of the word Horington. Horatio belongs with Archie and Norrington belongs with Jack *nods*)
When we came back we watched Dinner For One again and then played a pirate card game. By the time we were done all that it was 4am and we all collapsed in bed.
I had dreams about bendy, stretchy Ioan. Yum!
