Now we get onto the sight-seeing part of my trip pre-Wincon

So, I suppose it's time I started writing up my adventures, yes? I'm holding off on the convention stuff until I get home so I can scan in my photo ops and include those too. But I can at least cover the pre-con hijinks while I have a quiet moment.

Finally met up with elizah_jane so I think I've met everyone from my flist who is at Wincon now.

Went to a really great panel on modding fic exchanges and challenges today and got some good tips from wendy about things I can do with deancasbigbang next year.

YAY!

Winprom tonight but first we're heading to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

I'm having a fantastic time but this bloody cold won't shift so I'm feeling pretty run down and tired now. Looking forward to going home and recharging a bit before A5.

I think A5 is going to be pretty low-key for me. I'm not doing any of the extras so it's just panels, photo ops and autographs for me. Plus hanging out with all my friends which is the really fun part. I suspect oddlyfamiliar and I will be flailing as it's the first time we're meeting in person.

That is all I have to say about today at the moment

Greetings and salutations! I woke up at 8am local time today so I think my body clock is slowly adjusting.

Chicon gets under way today. Excite! Already spotted Matt Cohen last night and Richard walked past up and waved and said hi. I think we might have been staring. Oops.

I love Chicago! It's such a beautiful and interesting city! And so clean! I tell you if London was like Chicago I would visit it a lot more often.

So yesterday we went out for brunch and had the most amazingest fantastic pancakes ever. wingsunfurled, qthelights, squeemonster and I all had different kinds and shared.

I had pretzel pancakes covered in white chocolate and caramel sauce. Wingz had chocolate pancakes with banana and oreo, Q had red velvet pancakes and Squee had pumpkin spice pancakes. They were all AMAZING!

After that we got a bit lost but I managed to get a cheap pay as you go phone so I don't have to pay epic roaming charges to call and text (if you need the number PM or e mail me)

Then we did the architectural boat tour which was awesome. It was an amazingly hot and sunny day and I actually got a bit sunburned because I just wasn't expecting this weather. Not complaining though. It was beautiful. Took lots of photos.

After an epic saga we eventually managed to find cassiopeia7 and we walked over to Millenium Park. I loved it! It's much smaller than I was expecting but it's really cool. Took photos of myself reflected in The Bean so phase one of 'do what the boys in my fic did' is complete ;)

Remaining on said plan is go on the ferris wheel at Navy Pier (during which time Jared and Jensen fight about Misha. About him not over him *g*) and go on the glass platform of Sears Tower (during which time Jensen gets sick and Jared has to take him back to the hotel and look after him *g*). Then I will be done. LOL.

Not much to do this morning so I think we're just going to chill out. harper47 is waiting for me now so I'm going to sign off. Con tweets to come later and I think I've got photos with Matt and Richard later. qthelights talked me out of getting a just announced duo photo op with them. I've spent enough money really and I get a photo with them after the meet and greet anyway.
