Chicago - Monday in the city

Now we get onto the sight-seeing part of my trip pre-Wincon
So I spent the morning in MacDonalds abusing their super-fast free wifi and having breakfast while I uploaded my videos of the Misha/Jared/Jensen panel. At lunchtime I said farewell to most of Team Assbutt and caught a shuttle to the airport with
qthelights and
jabber_moose
Pretty much everyone I hung out with at this con is going to the Creation event in Nashville next year. I would dearly love to go but I can't commit to anything until I get a new job. So we'll see I guess.
After I said my final farewells I caught the train into Chicago and met up with
cassiopeia7 who was kindly letting me stay with her for a couple of days.
We dumped my stuff at her place and then headed out to get some food. She'll be able to tell you the name of the place we went to but I had this AMAZING spinach and cheese pizza. It was seriously good and almost made up for the fact that the mac and cheese lasagne I wanted wasn't being served until later in the day.
After that we headed into town. I'm really glad I got to see Chicago at night because it looks amazing.

Chicago theatre

We walked right past one of the news stations where they were filming, which was pretty awesome

This is a famous clock. I forget why

This was inside Macy's (I think)

It had a fountain, which I thought was pretty cool

And more random art. There's not many places where you will see a Picasso in the middle of a square

From the back it looks like an angel, right?

Sparkly trees

It's actually a woman's face

How awesome is this! We went over to the planetarium which gave us an amazing view of the city skyline

Navy Pier all lit up
