The con - Sunday
May. 5th, 2008 06:36 pmWe arrived two hours early on Sunday because it was John and I expected a queue. What I didn't expect was how huge it was going to be! Getting there two hours before it opened got me ticket number 260 for John and 240 for Eve. I suppose that's nothing to the number 800 I got when I met Elijah Wood. LOL!
yavannauk was ahead of us in the queue but she met us afterwards and we all went for breakfast, which was lovely. Also, there were daleks
( Daleks )
John's photoshoot was the first one of the day and, again, there was a huge queue. He's a very cuddly man though, as I think the photo demonstrates
( Me and John )
John's photoshoot ran over by quite a lot so we got some lunch and then I decided to get an autograph from Eve. I'd been wavering about it because I was already over budget (well, it's my own fault for forgetting I'd need food over the weekend) but
yavannauk said she was so nice so I decided what the hell.
She is indeed adoreable, and her accent is much stronger in real life than it is in Torchwood. I do love the Welsh accent (probably because a lot of my family is Welsh). She was really sweet and shook my hand and said 'nice to meet you, luv' in that adoreable accent and I about melted. I may have issues with Gwen as a character but Eve was lovely.
I was quite disappointed that this year they banned people from taking photos while they were waiting in line, but I managed to sneak one of Eve (but got told off afterwards. Oops)
( Eve )
It was only afterwards that I realised she'd spelled my name wrong even though it had been written down for her
( My autograph )
Even though a virtual queue system was in operation, there were loads of people hanging around waiting for their number to be called. We joined the back of the line when they were up to 200 and by the time we got to the front it was our turn.
( John's queue )
I didn't really have anything to say to John (until that night when I read a couple more chapters of his book. LOL) but I listened to him talking to the man in front of me and he was saying how surprised he was at how many people had showed up to meet him. Aww!
By the time I got done with John it was time for my photo with Eve and she was lovely again
