A random question
Dec. 5th, 2008 10:23 amOk, this is a bit of a weird one.
Who remembers that weekend Greg and I worked back in August where we both worked through the night all weekend to get one of our servers back online?
Well, as well as being put forward for a bonus (which we are still waiting to hear about) we have been given a Top Team award which essentially boils down to £50 each for us to spend on some kind of social activity
Greg has decided he wants to go to a convention. Something to do with comics and has cosplay. He's never been to a con so he wants something that covers everything really. Obviously it needs to be based in the UK
Anyone know of anything coming up that might be suitable?

How long would you consider it polite to wait for a reply to a beta request before asking someone else?

merlinxarthur beta list yesterday to see if they could beta my merlinadvent fic. I do have a beta, but she was juggling schoolwork with doing a beta on my merlin_the_elf fic and I didn't want to add to the load. However, now my usual beta says she is free again now and I haven't heard back from the other person I contacted. Should I just send the fic to my usual beta or should I wait a bit longer to hear from the other person I asked?

I also got a card from Royal Mail saying that a parcel has been left at my local post office for collection. This is odd as usually they send them back to the local sorting office. I'll have to pop in tomorrow and see what it is. Exciting!

I spent a very pleasant evening with Derek, Lord Matthew, Naomi and Jenny. We had chinese food followed by mince pies and mulled wine. It's properly Christmas now I have had mulled wine.
Matthew showed us all his MBE medal. It's very shiny.
While we chatted we had Come Dine With Me on in the background. Egads I have never seen so much bitching and backstabbing in my life. I'm glad the most hateful of the women came last.
In the car coming home Matthew mocked my absence tomorrow evening in favour of Merlin. I care not :-p I said I'd meet up with them when it's finished.
Right, I'm sleepy and I need to be up in time to make it to the PO before it closes.
