Challenge #3

In your own space, put some favorite characters into an AU, fuse some favorite canons together, talk about your favorite AU/fusion tropes, or tell us why AU/fusions aren’t your cup of tea. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

AUs are a weird thing for me. I don't mind reading them at all but I struggle to write them, except RPF AUs for some reason. One of my favourite fics that I've ever written was a Supernatural RPF AU. I think maybe because the 'characters' are real people it's easier to put them in other roles like they're actors. I don't know.

Now I'm trying to think what a Lost Tomb AU might look like. There aren't a huge number of them in our fandom. Probably because you can use 'tomb nonsense' to explain away a lot of things. We have a large number of animal transformation fics for that very reason.

As I mentioned yesterday in my 2021 Fic Review post I did write one AU last year for an exchange, but it was a soulmark AU so really everything was pretty much the same except the characters had tattoos on their wrists with the first words their soulmate said to them.

I think if I was going to go for something fully AU I'm quite fond of 'one of them is famous and one of them isn't' so maybe something like Zhang Qiling is an idol and IDK he saves Wu Xie from a mugging but Wu Xie has no idea who he is. He's an architect and Pangzi runs a construction company.

Damn, now I want to write this.

The Rest of the Questions )
hils: (Default)
I said I was going to post a life update but there isn't actually much to report. We went back into the office full time in November and we lasted 3 weeks before the surge in cases had us being told to work from home again. Initially we were supposed to be going back next week but that's now been changed to working from home indefinitely. Sounds like it's going to be at least another couple of months before they talk about us going back.

I managed to make it up to my parents for Christmas which was nice. Spent most of the time playing board games with my dad and doing jigsaws with my mum. My sister came up for New Year after her pre-Christmas visit had to be cancelled because she and her partner both caught covid after a trip to New York. It was nice to have the whole family together though. It doesn't happen very often.

So, we're pretty much back to how things were this time last year. Just have to keep plodding on.

And slightly related Challenge 2 of [community profile] snowflake_challenge is about goal setting and I need to keep myself busy so

Challenge #2

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

It's actually going to be pretty much the same as last year. I'm 3 days away from hitting my 1 year streak of learning Chinese on Duolingo. Starting to learn was my goal for last year so I want to carry on with it. I'm really pleased with the progress I've made. I'm at the point now where I can sometimes tell when subtitles for Chinese dramas and films aren't quite right and I always get excited when someone says something I can understand.

My other goal for this year is to carry on writing. I wrote 157K last year and I don't think I'll quite manage that this year. At the start of last year I threw myself into [community profile] sundial_exchange and wrote several fics in the first two months of the year. I don't really have time or the energy to do so much but one of my small discord groups has suggested we try and post at least 1 fic per month which is more than achievable. Ideally I'd like to get over 100k again this year but I don't want to push myself to try and 'beat' last year's word count.

Yes, I am still alive despite not having posted here since *checks* September.

[personal profile] fangirlishness mentioned Snowflake Challenge was running again this year and I do miss being on here so I'm going to try and do at least some of them.

I've also added DW to my habit tracker. I don't know that I'll post every day (but I will do a life update post some time this weekend) but I'll at least read it every day.

So, without further ado here's challenge 1 for [community profile] snowflake_challenge

This is a good one to start with because my Intro Post needed a bit of an update and some tweaking anyway.

As a writer there's honestly no greater joy than someone creating something based on your words.

Not only did [personal profile] tinny make some wonderful art of one of my scenes a while back she's now also made a series of icons based on a silly joke that runs across a couple of parts of the series.

I'm delighted, touched, and I kind of want to cry. Obviously I have snagged a couple of the icons but I love them all.
hils: (Default)
I just noticed that I haven't posted here since July. Whoops.

Hi, I'm still alive. Here's a brief (okay let's be real it's me so it probably won't be brief) update of what's going on in the world of Hils.

I just got back off a vacation for my birthday. A small group of us rented a cottage for just under a week. I mean it was listed as a cottage but it was pretty big and had six bedrooms (so no one had to share in these Covid times).

Pics )

It was nice. We did fun fandom activities, had a disco, saw some scenery and just hung out. It was a nice mix of doing activities but not cramming so much in that we all felt exhausted. I got some writing done during the quiet times and some reading.

Now I seem to suddenly have all the social activities together. My aunt is getting married next weekend up in Scotland so I'll be heading up to stay with the parents for a couple of days, then the weekend after it's my friend Emma's birthday and we've rented the beach apartment that I was supposed to stay in at Christmas, and then the weekend after that I'm going to visit my sister who I haven't seen in nearly 2 years.

Work has been a bit of a saga. We were supposed to return to the office at the beginning of this month. We spent ages setting everything up and making sure it was all as safe as possible. Then, 2 days before we were supposed to go back, our health and safety officer said we couldn't reopen without an inspection first. Apparently the London office delayed their reopening by a month for this reason and everyone just assumed we knew and had done the same even though no one had told us.

So now the return to the office is set for the beginning of October at the earliest. Who knows what's happened while I've been away.

In fandom news I have finished The Rebel, which was mostly excellent with a slightly disappointing ending. Now I'm watching The Devil Judge which is a Korean dystopian drama where the outcome of high profile court cases is decided by public vote. I'm really enjoying it so far. The cast is fantastic. One of the leads is a former k-pop idol and I had no idea until I was a few episodes in. He can definitely hold his own as an actor.

I have posted several fics since I last updated here. My total AO3 word count for the year is now 115k which is wild. I never imagined when I posted my first Lost Tomb fic at the end of last year that it would unlock all of the inspiration. I've got another fic I'm working on at the moment which is probably going to be around 7k when it gets finished and I have more fics outlined than I will ever have time to write. It feels really good to have a fandom I'm fully engaged in like this again and I'm so thankful to [personal profile] achray, [personal profile] fangirlishness, [personal profile] teyla, [personal profile] elenothar and [personal profile] charloween for being so encouraging and always being willing to beta when I finish something new.

Title: A Friend in the Dark
Fandom: The Lost Tomb Reboot
Pairing: Gen
Rating: Teen
Summary: He’s starting to wonder if Wu Xie secretly hates him. Wu Xie could have stayed himself or left Zhang Qiling to keep an eye on him while he drew. Not that he needs a babysitter. He’s a professional and has managed just fine by himself up until now. He’s not the one who gets into trouble as soon as anyone’s back is turned.

Title: Memories of You
Fandom: Ultimate Note
Pairing: Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling
Rating: General Audiences
Summary: The mark on his wrist is a tattoo. It’s small, only about the size of a fingernail, but it stands out stark on his pale skin. It’s writing, cleanly printed and easy to read. Two characters making up the word ‘mine’, which he thinks is a strange choice for a tattoo. Did someone else design it to mark him as their own? Or was it his choice, laying claim to someone or something he has now forgotten?

Title: You, Me and a House in a Tree
Fandom: The Lost Tomb Reboot
Pairing: Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling/Wang Pangzi
Rating: Teen
Summary: “For Xiaoge,” Wu Xie says, lifting the paper slightly so Pangzi can see it clearly. “Do you think he’ll like it?”

It’s not a very complex design, but Xiaoge isn’t really one for ostentation. What he likes are things that are practical and functional, which this very much is.

“He sleeps on a tree branch,” Pangzi points out. “Of course he’ll like it. This is a mansion compared to that.”

Title: Dinner for Three
Fandom: The Lost Tomb Reboot
Pairing: Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling/Wang Pangzi
Rating: Teen
Summary: They’ve both cooked with Pangzi before, always under his guidance, but often enough that neither of them are total novices. How hard can cooking one meal be? Wu Xie has a degree in architecture and Xiaoge has been alive for over a hundred years. It’s not like either of them are stupid.

I also want to share a couple of fics that have been written for me because they are delightful.

[personal profile] achray wrote this one for my birthday

Title: Unity and Mutual Assistance
Fandom: The Lost Tomb Reboot
Pairing: Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling/Wang Pangzi
Rating: Teen
Summary: “You’re the best person they could have on their stupid village committee, and at least they’re sensible enough to know it!" Wu Xie said.

And [personal profile] teyla wrote this one as part of the [community profile] guardian_wishlist exchange

Title: Space to Live
Fandom: The Lost Tomb Reboot
Pairing: Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling/Wang Pangzi
Rating: General Audiences
Summary: After the tomb raid is before the tomb raid. There comes a time, though, when every tomb raider has to think about retirement.

I think that's pretty much it. I'll try not to leave too long between updates in the future.
hils: (Default)
It's been a strange week. I spent two days in the office towards the end of the week with the other 3 members of my team, my boss and her boss. We stripped the place down and worked out what we wanted to get rid of and what we wanted to keep before we have a team coming in to redecorate and replace all the furniture ready for our (potential) full return in September.

Being in the office itself wasn't that stressful. Everyone had to be tested before they came in, we wore masks in communal spaces and everyone was sanitising their hands regularly.

What it did, though, was really throw out my routine. I am a creature of habit and having a (reasonably) strict routine is how I've got through the 18 months of working at home. I know on Tuesdays and Thursday I go to the post office to mail things for work, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I go for a lunchtime walk. As soon as I'm finished for the day I do my Chinese practice, a 20 mintute writing sprint, and read a couple of chapters of whatever book I'm reading before dinner.

Going into the office just felt a little off. After the first day I was absolutely exhausted. I don't know if it's because we spent a day moving furniture and computer equipment around or because I was somewhere else and had to go back to commuting. Maybe a bit of both.

So, that was a little taste of what's to come I guess. My company has been really good and they've explicitly said that if there's a spike in numbers or if anything else happens before September then we just won't go back. We've shown that we can work effectively from home so there's no need to rush back. We'll see what happens I guess. They also bought all of us lunch on both days to say thank you for going in and sorting everything out. I do like the company I work for.

In fandom news I am now 15 episodes into The Rebel and still very much enjoying it. Zhu Yilong looks sad a lot, there's all sorts of spy shenanigans, the main villain is delightful, the female lead is awesome, and the support cast are all really good actors. Loads of things to enjoy. Today Zhu Yilong stood in the snow looking sad AND walked in the rain, again looking sad. Then he cried. Playing to his strengths. I like it.

We've group watched the first few episodes of the new/old Lost Tomb show and we are enjoying it. It's silly and the plot is incoherent which is exactly what I expect from a tomb show. We are having a lot of fun.

I finished and submitted my [community profile] 10yearpromise fic and it came in at 15k after I added a bunch during the editing. Now I'm back to working on something utterly self indulgent and I am having fun.

I checked AO3 earlier and including the unpublished exchange fic I have posted 98k this year so far. I've written 18k this month alone. After this fic I'm working on, though, I don't have any clear idea what I want to work on next. Before I got back into writing towards the end of last year I'd barely posted anything the 2 years before that and part of me is worried that if I stop I won't be able to start again. I might only be writing for 20 mins per day but eventually, I assume, I will run out of ideas or inspiration and I don't want that to happen. Writing has brought me so much joy in this shitty time and I don't want to lose that again.

We shall see what happens I guess.

The Rebel

Jul. 22nd, 2021 05:29 pm
hils: (Lin Nansheng)
After several friend raved about how good The Rebel was I decided to give it a try, and they weren't wrong. I'm only a few episodes in but I was expecting...I'm not sure really. I think I was expecting it to be darker than it is. I mean, it's dark, but a bearable amount. So far it has mostly been spy adventures. It's pretty gripping stuff.

I'm also very excited that a new/old tomb show has started airing. It's a sequel to The Lost Tomb 2 that was made in 2018 but has only just been released. One of my favourite actors from Love and Redemption is playing Wu Xie (the main lead) and I'm delighted.

I'm especially happy that my old gang who watched all the other tomb shows with me is getting back together to watch this one. We're starting on Saturday and we're taking it slow instead of cramming several episodes into a day. It was fine during lockdown when no one had anything else to do but I think people are wanting a bit more free time now instead of a distraction.

It'll be fun!

I'm also currently editing my [community profile] 10yearpromise fic and I'm almost done. The first draft is 10k and the edited version is looking like it'll come in somewhere between 12 and 13k, which will make it my longest Lost Tomb fic. I'm not sure where all these words have come from given I had no idea what to do with my prompts at first. I just hope they are good words. I've reached the point now where I've been working on it for so long I'm not convinced it's any good. Hopefully my beta (thank you [personal profile] teyla) will be able to either reassure me or tell me what needs fixing. There's still a couple of weeks until the deadline so I'm not too worried.
hils: (Iron Triangle)
Had dinner with [personal profile] achray and [personal profile] elenothar last night and it was totally worth shoving a swab up my nose and down my throat multiple times beforehand to make it possible.

I've generally found that when I meet people in person after first meeting them online we get along well, and this was no exception. We all got along really well and we had a lovely evening chatting about studies, travel, and Zhu Yilong's face. We also realised that [personal profile] fangirlishness is the person who brought us all together.

Everyone on our small DMBJ server is slowly convincing me to watch The Rebel. I was so sure I didn't want to watch depressing Chinese propaganda even with Zhu Yilong being in it but apparently it's very good. We shall see.

Everyone was making fun of me at work this morning because one of my colleagues agreed to cover being on-call for me so I didn't have to worry about work phoning me in the middle of dinner. I told him I'd probably be home by 9 because the restaurant outdoor area closed at 8. But then while we were walking back to the station we found a nice outdoor bar so we stopped to have a glass of wine and talk about Zhu Yilong's face some more. I eventually got home at 10:30 and texted the work group chat to say I felt like a kid sneaking in after curfew :D

It was a really nice evening and the only sad part was not being able to hug either of them just in case.

I can't wait until it's safer to travel because I hadn't met any of my new cdrama fandom friends since I got into it at the start of lockdown. Eventually I am going to go and visit anyone who will have me.

Good News!

Jacqui suggested I go and get a PCR Covid test, because last time she had to self-isolate she was allowed back out once she'd registered a negative covid test.

So, I went to the drive through test centre yesterday afternoon. It was very well organised and efficient. I was there maybe 15 mins in total. Took the test at 2:30pm yesterday, got the results at 10am this morning. Negative, which I figured it would be. And, sure enough, I was advised in the text that if it'd been more than 48 hours with no symptoms, and provided I didn't live with anyone who had tested positive, I no longer needed to isolate \o/

I have to say I'm so glad I've got such a nice and understanding boss who was totally cool with me going out and getting tested in work's time, and was totally understanding when I said I didn't get anything done yesterday because my head was all over the place.

This means dinner with [personal profile] achray and [personal profile] elenothar is back on \o/

Looks to be a nice day tomorrow, too, so there should be no issues with us sitting outside to eat. YAY!

I should have known that being vaguely excited about something would jinx it. A few hours after this post I got a notification from the NHS app saying I need to self-isolate for 10 days because I was potentially in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid.

The only place I checked into yesterday was Subway when I popped in to pick up a sandwich before I went to meet Emma in the park for lunch. I was only in there for 5 minutes, masked, and there was 1 other customer in there at the same time as me. The problem is the stupid track and trace app gets you to check into a venue but you don't check out when you leave. So what this probably means is that someone at some point registered a positive test yesterday who had been in Subway at some point during the day. The chances of it being the person who was there at the same time as me is small, and I don't think we got close enough for me to have contracted anything, but still.

This now throws my plans for the meal with [personal profile] achray and [personal profile] elenothar up in the air.

Luckily for me Jacqui has some lateral flow tests left from when she had to self-isolate a couple of weeks ago. I took a test this evening and it was negative. I'll take another one on Wednesday morning and if that's also negative and I have no symptoms I should be fine to go out.

It's just shit, and I'm really upset. I've been looking forward to this for a few weeks.

Not a lot going on at the moment. I've pretty much settled back into my regular routine after getting back from Scotland.

Met my friend Emma for an outdoor lunch on Saturday which was nice. We got takeout food and sat in the park. We ended up chatting for nearly 6 hours. The novelty of in-person interaction after only talking on Zoom for over a year. I think we're going to make it a regular thing, weather permitting. Neither of us particularly wants to sit in a cafe or restaurant yet. It was fine when I was visiting my parents in a small Scottish village but I live in a city and it was SO CROWDED when I went into town to meet Emma, even just outside. I don't even want to think about what inside places are like.

Guess who is recruiting again? We had a good few weeks where we were fully staffed and now someone has found a job elsewhere so we're back at it again. At least it's for a Mon-Fri role. Those are always easier to fill than the roles involving shift work.

In fandom news I have finished Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Started Mass Effect 3 yesterday and considering how much I've played these games on my old PS3 it's amazing how much I've forgotten. It's also interesting that my tastes have apparently changed over the years. For those who aren't aware one of the things that makes these games so popular is you have the option to form a romantic relationship with one of several characters, and some of those romances span multiple games. It's fun. I had a very set favourite option but when I played it this time I just didn't want to romance the guy I usually pick in Mass Effect 2. So, I chose someone else, with zero regrets.

I've really loved playing these games again. They are some of my favourites of all time. But I am missing watching dramas. I haven't watched anything since we finished Word of Honor. I'm looking forward to finishing Mass Effect 3 so I can go back to watching things again. There are several options for what to choose first. I'll have to see if Jacqui wants to join me and if she has any opinions.

And, I have posted another fic.

Title: Smiles Await You When You Rise
Fandom: The Lost Tomb Reboot

Rating: General Audiences
Summary: “Of course it’ll work,” Pangzi replies with a firm confidence that Wu Xie wishes he felt himself. “Now kiss him, and then we can all go home.”

Wu Xie takes a breath to steady himself, then leans down and brushes his lips over Xiaoge’s. Then he kisses him more firmly, just so the curse isn’t in any doubt about whether this is an actual kiss or not. He pulls back and waits.

Xiaoge doesn’t wake up.

I am back from Scotland and feeling like a new person. Who'd have thought an actual proper break from work and some time out in the countryside would be good for your mental health?

After my adventures in a cafe last week I came home ready to embrace doing more 'normal' things only to find out that while I was away my housemate got notified that somewhere she'd been had a positive case of COVID and that she needed to self-isolate for a few days. She's taken a covid test and she's fine but it was a reminder that while things are starting to feel normal again they actually aren't. I guess a small cafe in a country village is a bit different to a cafe in a city. So, back to being a hermit for a while longer I guess.

Still, my trip away cleared out the cobwebs and I'm feeling a lot better now.

Going back to work today wasn't the slog that it usually is. My energy feels replenished and even having to go into the office for a few hours to pick up some things didn't phase me.

Now I'm going to settle back into my routine and I'm really glad for my habit tracker app which reminds me what I need to do each day. I put it on vacation mode last week so I didn't lose my streaks.
hils: (Default)
Getting towards the end of my week in Scotland and omg I needed this so badly. It's been a nice mix of chilled out days at home and venturing out to be in nature.

A few pics )

I'm slowly weaning myself back into doing 'normal' things. Parents took me to a cafe which is the first time I've eaten out since last March. Was a bit nervous but it was totally fine. They got everyone to sanitise their hands before they showed us to a table, and they got us to fill in our contact details for track and trace.

We went to another cafe yesterday but it was a nice day so we sat outside for that. Also fine.

And that's about it really. When I told my parents this was my first full week off in over a year they've been really good about letting me lie in and not cramming tons into our days so I can have a rest as well.

Picnic tomorrow and then I'm heading home after lunch on Sunday.

I told myself I was going to take this week off from writing but I am kind of missing it. I made the mistake of starting a new fic the day before I left to come up here and I'm itching to work on it some more. I don't think I'll have time before I head home though but I'll get back into my regular routine on Monday.

I've also finally finished the Heaven Official's Blessing novel. It took me six months of reading it every day and it was a struggle in the middle but the last couple of books were excellent so I ended up really enjoying it. Since then I've finished two other books that I was halfway through and I've started the first Lost Tomb novel. It's such an easy read compared to Heaven Official's Blessing but I suppose it helps that I'm familiar with the story and the characters.

June Something Question

Day 11: What would make you leave a fandom, or prevent you from getting into it in the first place?

Drama/discourse/wank whatever you want to call it. Fandom is supposed to be fun and I just don't have the time or the patience for it. It's one of the reasons I left the Supernatural fandom and it's one of the reasons I didn't stick with The Untamed fandom (I do still read fic for it but I don't engage with the fandom beyond that).

Day 12: Who is someone that you share the most fandoms with?

There are a few friends I met in the Supernatural fandom who have been through multiple fandoms with me since. I think my friend Tippy has been in pretty much every fandom with me from Supernatural to The Untamed.

Day 13: Squicks - What are some things that squick you in fandom - not necessarily "icky", though it can be. From anything involving blood, to bad grammar.

I'm trying to think and I'm not sure I have any. Maybe poorly formatted fics. I'll generally give anything a go if the writer is skilled enough to make it work.

It has been A Day!

My work laptop has been acting weird for the past couple of weeks and I was told the only way to fix it was to go into the office and get it wiped. Not ideal. I had some stuff to hand over to my boss so she can do the post office jobs while I'm in Scotland so we both went in today and her boss came up from London to sort out some stuff for the office refub that's happening before we all go back.

It was nice to see them both. I haven't seen my boss since last summer and I haven't seen her boss since last March.

But then the rebuild of my PC went wrong so I spent an hour on the phone with an engineer while he got me to try a few different things but he couldn't get it to work, so he asked one of the senior guys who luckily was also in the office to take a look and it took him about another hour to get it to work. So what should have taken about an hour took about 3 and I couldn't do anything as we have no spare laptops because everyone needs them for working from home.

Then, while I was waiting for my laptop to get fixed, one of the guys from the office came in from a smoke break to tell me my car had a flat tyre. The same tyre I had replaced only a week ago. So I had to call the garage and they told me to bring it back in, but I couldn't go until my laptop was sorted.

Laptop eventually got done at 2pm, took my car to the garage and it took them a couple of hours to look at it so again all I could do was sit around because I couldn't get home without my car.

Finally at just after 4pm I had a working car and a working laptop, and then I had to sit in rush hour traffic (yeah that's back to being a thing) while I drove home.

Thank god I only have one day left at work and then I'm off until a week on Tuesday. Today has been exhausting.

But, in happier news, I have posted another fic

Pairing: Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling
Rating: General Audiences
Summary: “To the merging of the Wu and Zhang families,” his uncle toasts with a raise of his glass. "It's not what I'd hoped for in terms of securing the future of our family, as you know, but at least it's better than nothing."

Wu Xie blinks at him and raises his glass to take a drink while he tries to figure out what’s happening. There aren’t that many members of the Zhang family that his uncle has had dealings with. Xiaoge would have mentioned something if he’d entered into some sort of arrangement with his uncle. Perhaps his Ershu has made some sort of business deal with Zhang Rishan.

OR

Five times Wu Xie didn't know he was dating Zhang Qiling but everyone else did, and one time he figured it out (with some help)

Day 10: Drop your OTP or small ensemble from the fandom they're in into another fandom - how do they do?
Okay, I'm dropping my OT3 into another fandom because I refuse to leave Pangzi behind. And I want to drop them in the world of Supernatural. I think they'd be fine (if you bypass the fact that the writers of Supernatural like to kill off anyone who isn't a straight white male). They're used to fighting monsters and dealing with other weirdness so I think they'd be fine. Someone actually wrote a really excellent DMBJ/Supernatural fusion which used Chinese folklore and monsters.

Day 9: Drop the cast of a fandom you follow into a reality tv show - who/what/why?

Can you imagine the chaos of having the DMBJ cast on something like Antiques Roadshow. Wu Xie would go around charming all the little old ladies into letting him sell their antiques for them, Pangzi would make a game of trying to pass off fakes as the genuine thing to 'those so-called experts'. Not sure what Xiaoge's role would be but he'd end up on camera a lot when he's not really doing much other than standing around and watching.

Day 7: What's the longest time you've been in a fandom. Not necessarily your oldest fandom, but a fandom that you started and still continue to read/write/create content for in some way.
I wouldn't say my longest fandom is one I'm still in. I tend to give my all to a fandom, but I can generally only focus on one or two at a time. That's not to say I no longer like the fandoms I used to be in, they just don't hold my attention anymore. I was in the Buffy fandom for about 6 years and I was in the Supernatural fandom for about the same amount of time. Those are probably my two longest. Marvel and hockey were around 4 years each (I still love hockey - just not in the current climate).

Day 8: Crack!fic - We all know it. What's your opinion of it, and if you want, show us an example.
I love it! It can be a lot of fun, and what I especially love are those talented authors who can take a cracky concept and make it genuine. Crack fics are also a lot of fun to write.
