I am back from Scotland and feeling like a new person. Who'd have thought an actual proper break from work and some time out in the countryside would be good for your mental health?

After my adventures in a cafe last week I came home ready to embrace doing more 'normal' things only to find out that while I was away my housemate got notified that somewhere she'd been had a positive case of COVID and that she needed to self-isolate for a few days. She's taken a covid test and she's fine but it was a reminder that while things are starting to feel normal again they actually aren't. I guess a small cafe in a country village is a bit different to a cafe in a city. So, back to being a hermit for a while longer I guess.

Still, my trip away cleared out the cobwebs and I'm feeling a lot better now.

Going back to work today wasn't the slog that it usually is. My energy feels replenished and even having to go into the office for a few hours to pick up some things didn't phase me.

Now I'm going to settle back into my routine and I'm really glad for my habit tracker app which reminds me what I need to do each day. I put it on vacation mode last week so I didn't lose my streaks.

I'm so glad you had a restful and rejuvenating trip! It really is amazing how even a short break can reset the brain and make you feel better.

I am glad that she is ok. Many of us are in a weird limbo in which things go back and forth between being back to normal and then being reminded that we aren't there yet.

I have found that habit trackers and journal scheduling has been extremely useful in both productivity and not feeling like I am going to lose my mind with all the stuff I have to get done.
