hils: (Mish Smish)
Actually it's more like Misha and Jim tweets because it all started with Jim Beaver and you kind of need to read all of it for it to make sense. So here's the whole twittversation (word stolen from [livejournal.com profile] missyjack shamelessly)

Well, I was worried I wasn't going to have anything to rec this week and then this gem appeared on my flist overnight

Dean/Castiel
The First Year by [livejournal.com profile] cloudyjenn
When Castiel leaves after Lucifer's defeat, all he asks is that Dean wait for him. So that's exactly what Dean does.
It's interesting that this is the first fic to be posted after all the recent discussion about how dependant Castiel is on Dean, because he really isn't in this fic. I love this so much because Cas is just as he should be. He's otherworldly yet himself at the same time. And Dean, oh Dean, I really can see him striving for normality after the apocalypse and it's just heartbreaking and sweet and perfect
hils: (Writing)
So, I have my topic for this years [livejournal.com profile] writerconuk. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sinnerforhire for the idea

planning vs. 'pantsing' (e.g. flying by the seat of your pants)

I could really use some input from the writers on my flist so I can put together some discussion points.

Do you write plans for your fics before you start them? How much detail do you put into it if so?

For those who don't plan do you think it benefits your story? If so how?

For those who plan do you find it inhibiting in any way? Are there disadvantages to it?

For those who don't plan do you wish you did?

Planners: Any advice to pantsters who want to start planning?

Have it it folks? Anything and everything on the subject is welcome. I could waffle on about my own experiences but I might save that for the panel ;)
hils: (Manga me)
Oh wise flist, can anyone help me. I was chatting to [livejournal.com profile] strangeandcharm earlier and she said she thought someone had turned The Melting Verse into a single file PDF but she wasn't sure where it was archived. Anyone got any ideas? I would love to get my hands on it.

In other news I was pondering today that I don't really have any holidays planned for this year so far, which distressed me for a while until I realised I really don't need to be travelling halfway across the world to have fun.

In times gone by I didn't really know any fandom people in this country, never mind near me, but over the last year or so I've made loads of new friends that it is perfectly reasonable for me to hang out and squee with.

I've already got a minion meetup scheduled for Newcastle in a couple of weeks and [livejournal.com profile] kaylbunny, [livejournal.com profile] dametokillfor and I have now also made plans to watch STONEHENGE APOCALYPSE together and go to the beach. WHEE!

I've got the lovely [livejournal.com profile] merlin_north_uk ladies that I see once a month as well as the [livejournal.com profile] merlin_london guys for when I get down there.

So, really, I have nothing to feel antsy about.

That being said I'm hoping to maybe go to France in June to see Merlin being filmed, and I've got an invite to visit [livejournal.com profile] drbillbongo in Germany in August

My trip to Chicago for [livejournal.com profile] wincon is looking 99% likely to happen and I've been pricing up flights.

So, yay, I need to chill out and remind myself how broke I was last year because I went on too many trips. LOL!

So, this post is less about Misha's tweets (although there is one and a photo) and more about SPN on Twitter in general. This follows on from the Misha/Jim stuff from last night
