Who on my flist is coming to the Merlin meetup next month?
Dec. 15th, 2008
I have to be up for work in less than 6 hours and I'm still very much awake :(
But I have a pretty B&W Colin icon to go with my B&W Bradley so it can't be all bad, right?
I need more icon space though. You'd think 126 would be enough...
Also, is anyone else wondering which Harry Potter book Bradley likes best? Inquiring minds want to know.

Someone put a stake in me
Dec. 15th, 2008 10:06 amI am running on a cocktail of sugar and caffine. Ahh! No doubt I will fall over later. Luckily I'm on a half day today as it's our office Christmas lunch this afternoon.
Had a dream last night that I bought the first Twilight book because I didn't want to slate it without having read it first. We'll have no more nonsense like that, thanks subconscious.

Well, that was quite fun. I really noticed the differences between this and new BSG though. I miss new BSG. One thing I did notice was Cassiopeia. Here I was (perhaps naively) thinking that Joss Whedon came up with the whole Companion thing. Well, in BSG they're called Socialators but it's the same thing. You learn something new every day.
Next on the list is Sir Apropos of Nothing by Peter David. Dave gave me this book and assured me I will love it. We shall see...
This will likely be my last book post of the year as I don't think I'm going to get anything else finished before January. 38 isn't a bad number I don't think

Be quiet, sir, can't you see we're dying?
Dec. 15th, 2008 03:42 pmI am stuffed to the brim with Turkey and other nummy goodies. What I really want to do now is go to sleep but I know if I do that I'll be wide awake at 3am again.
My boss very kindly threw in a big chunk towards the meal so I only ended up spending £10 on a three course meal and a glass of wine.
Well, that's the fun part of the week over. Now I just need to get over the hurdle of this interview on Wednesday (although I'm still waiting for official confirmation that it's going ahead. Eep.) and then I can relax for the holidays
Right, I have a couple of presents to wrap and then I'm going to try and do some more of my

As soon as I finished my last entry my interview confirmation came through. It's scheduled to last for an hour, which is the longest I've ever been in an interview for.
Am slightly concerned that one of the 'essential' skills they've listed on the job description is safety testing equipment, which I have never done. Other than that it's all pretty much what I do now.
Will have to do a bit of prep work tomorrow but I have to say I'm not going to be crushed if I don't get this. I'm doing it for the interview practise more than anything.
My current plan is to stick my current job out until the end and take the redundancy money. It's a lot. If I buy a car and move to a flat/house that has parking I should still be able to put 10K in the bank, which will see me through the time it takes to find a new job. And that's if I leave in August next year. It'll almost certainly get extended again from what people are saying.

Good and bad
Dec. 15th, 2008 07:43 pmI fell asleep. Oops. Only for about an hour so I think I should be ok going to bed at a sensible time.
Despite my earlier post I am actually quite nervous about this interview. I haven't had an interview for a job in 2 years. Anyone got any tips?

Merlin stuff
Dec. 15th, 2008 08:21 pmMaybe I'm getting the hang of writing Merlin/Arthur now. My latest
merlinadvent fic is back from beta with just a few minor grammar changes. WHEE! Considering how many alterations I had to make to my
merlin_the_elf fic, which is a similar length, I consider this a victory!
I have a question now that the series is over

And a meme
Dec. 15th, 2008 08:27 pmSorry, I'm in spam mode tonight (yeah, what's new, I know) but I got tagged and I must obey the tag!
A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.
B) Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

Gah! Tagged again!
Dec. 15th, 2008 08:50 pmFinally someone tagged me in the happy meme! I like posting about things that make me happy
The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same.
Christmas lunch. I'm very fortunate that I get along very well with everyone I work with. I spent a very enjoyable few hours with good food and good company
I actually have no idea who has been tagged on this already. If you want me to tag you I have tagged you.
