Ick

I had a seriously fucked up dream last night. I mean really. I'm not even sure I can write about because it was so bleh.

Still, it made sure I got up when my alarm went off. I didn't want to risk going back to sleep and having the dream continue

FIRE!

hils has had to leave her building- there's a fire in the flat next door!
I've visited these flats and theres a lot of wood- like being inside a mini matchbox!
Heres hoping it doesn't spread to hils' flat as well! *fingers crossed*

I'm sure hils will let us all know the gossip when she's allowed back inside- hope it isn't too cold!

hils and jaqui_hw are both fine, they managed to get outside alright. I phoned hils and she said it was a bit of a joke because there are 6 fire engines and one bloke on a crane trying to deal with the fire. Apparently they keep running out of water and there aren't any hydrants near by.

Anyway, the girls are ok, when I spoke to them, the fire was being put out and hadn't reached their flat- they think the worst thing will be the smell of smoke.

I'm sure she'll let you know the details when they get back in- hils did mention she was logged in to msn messenger when they had to vacate, so if you leave a message and she doesn't respond, you know why.

Update

I've just spoken to hils again- the fire is still burning, so they cant get back inside. Naturally, they wont be allowed back inside until the fire is completely out and they've done a safety inspection- so the girls probably wont be back inside tonight.

hils is going to phone her parents to get them to pick her and jaqui_hw up so they can sleep there for tonight.

They're still ok, a little cold and worried. Hopefully they'll get some internet access at hils' parents house.

Hils here

Just wanted to thank you all for your comments. I'll reply to them when I'm feeling a bit less drained. I'm at my parents for the night with Jacqui and we've been given a number to call in the morning to see if it's safe to go back into the building

When we left the fire hadn't spread to our part of the building but it wasn't fully out yet either so there's no way of knowing how bad the damage is until we get back inside

And we don't have insurance. Stupid, yes, but nothing we can do about it now. Hopefully the letting agency are covered for damage to the actual building and we'll just have to look at replacing any personal belongings that have been damaged

And on top of all this my cat was put to sleep today.

Sucks doesn't even begin to cover it. I need to go and sleep now
