I actually think that is the best episode this show has done! Ever! I mean the stuff at the start was hilarious of course but then there was an actual serious plot that advanced what was going on

Cas is a fanboy! OMG! I about died when he started flicking through the book! And he was so awesome giving Dean hints on what to do. Seriously, I have so much love it hurts.

Right, now I am going to go and read fic. Best 'Dean reads fanfic about him and Cas' story will be recced shortly. There's bound to be...a few out there.

Edit: Actually, I was thinking. I've discussed with people before about the difference between Joss and Kripke. Joss has his own ideas. He knows what fans want and often gives it to them but with a twist, like the very dark and abusive Spuffy relationship in season 6

Kripke just wants to make the fans happy I think. Rightly or wrongly he gives us what we want. Fans like Cas, so we get more Cas in season 5. Not complaining.

If Joss was writing the show Cas would fall because of his attachment to Dean, and then die, happy that he discovered what love was even if it wasn't returned.

Kripke...well, I don't know what he's going to do but I don't think it will be anything that bleak.

But I was thinking about this and how it's going to end. I think Dean is going to die. Again. Not at the end of season 4 I mean when the series comes to an end. I think he will die and go to heaven because once the war is over what else is there for him to do? The man deserves some peace and I think it will be his reward for doing God's work. Naturally Cas will be there too, and probably his mother. I'm not really sure what happened to John after he got released from Hell.
