I was willing to give Season 8 a go even though there was no Lex and aside from the atrocity that was Lana's return it's actually been a fairly pleasant ride. However, I was consoling myself with the fact that this would likely be the final season. Now there's going to be a season 9

Fuck. That. Shit.

Now, I love Tom and I love Clois but, really, enough is enough.

I've already reached the sad realisation that I probably won't write much more Clex when I get my final two WIPs finished, because the show just isn't inspiring me anymore. This is the final nail in the coffin really. Talk about flogging a dead horse.

Aww *hugs* I know the feeling. Years ago I started an AU and while I still write in it, I don't make any progress because SV kinda killed my muse. Though, I need to put Clark in his tights!

Well, I'll continue to write myself and issue challenges, but I'll be honest: I wanted the show to end because that means the shipper war machine loses its fuel. I have my little fandom niche and what I like to write, and the show doesn't particularly affect that, not anymore. What kills my creativity is being treated like shit.

So what's bumming me is that I'd hope that our fandom would have a little time to calm down/heal/move on before hitting it's post-airing stride, and now we have another season of anvils and episodes designed to rile people up and make them angry. And they'll get angry at each other, mostly, and not the show runners who do it to get ratings.

Like you said. Enough is enough. Wrap it up so you can do it WELL. But no, they decided to stall once again and push for another season. Sigh.

I know the feeling there except with Nip/Tuck.
I'm actually having great trouble forcing myself to watch the latest episodes of what used to be my favourite show.
It's just got so ridiculous, the main surgery last week was a guy who had branches for arms and legs.

Luckily I definitely only has one season left, one of the main characters and the biggest draws is going to die in the next series and the makers have said they're definitely stopping next year.
But I know how horrible it is when something you used to love just loses it.

On a similar note, I can't believe that something which is failing in so many fans eyes is getting renewed yet so many fantastic shows with massive fanbases get cancelled.

I was enjoying it until Lana came back too but I dunno, I just think they're dragging it out too long. Clois has kind of lost credibility now that they've made it clear Clark still loves Lana. Blah!

Honestly I wasn't excited about Season 8. There's been some moments, but the reason I wasn't excited then and I'm not excited now is...it just doesn't feel like my show anymore. :(
