That was nice
Jul. 30th, 2006 02:45 pmWent to a pub for lunch with
robhu, Greg, Andy and Rob's housemate Pam. We had lots of lovely food and some interesting conversations
I was also amused the the chef serving the carvery was calling all the men 'brother'. Maybe Desmond has found himself a new job. LOL
Now I need to decide how to spend my afternoon. I've got the flat to myself until tomorrow

You know you're a fan of something. List your absolute top fandom(s) and explain how you first came across that fandom. Then tag five friends to do the same.
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I am actually ashamed to say I started watching this because (in my misguided youth) I thought the film was good. I watched it from when it first aired on Sky and I was immediately hooked (although it took me until Season 4 to fall in love with Spike)
2. Pirates of the Caribbean. I saw the first film when I was in Tampa for my first Buffy convention. A big group of us went and I fell in love with it immediately. When I came back to England I wanted to see it again, only to discover it hadn't been released yet. LOL
3. Lord of the Rings. I will openly admit I hadn't read the books when the films came out and indeed I really didn't become a true fan until after I'd seen all three films at the cinema. Then the fannishness began
4. Hornblower. I really couldn't work up any enthusiasm for this when I borrowed the DVDs from my mum but as soon as I saw the first episode I fell in love. Especially with Pellew.
5. Battlestar Galactica. I actually watched the mini-series about 3 years ago when I was visiting
nam_melon and I didn't really get into it. Then (after I'd discovered Jamie) I watched it again I realised it was brilliant. I soon became a Lee/Kara shipper.

![]() You often feel torn between two dominant personalities. Sometimes you're adaptable and friendly; other times indecisive and unsure. No matter what, you're the life of the party or conversation. Witty and talkative, you entertain with your stories and gossip. It's a bit difficult for you to finish what you start - jobs, friendships, relationships... There's so much you want to try. You often bite off more than you can chew. |
I decided when I got back from lunch to go for a nap. The tiredness from being woken up early was really hitting me. The problem with naps though is that it's really hard to get up again. I had to set my alarm or I'd have slept until tomorrow morning and I didn't want to waste the last part of my weekend. When my alarm went off I really didn't want to get up but I had to force myself. Now I feel all groggy and crap

LJ just ate one of my posts! Grr! Let me try and remember what I wrote
I just finished watching American History X. Amazing film, although slightly predictable. Kind of left me feeling the same way Crash did (depressed and slightly sick). I was going to watch The Machinist too but I don't think my brain can take any more
Another day for that one I think
