1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I am actually ashamed to say I started watching this because (in my misguided youth) I thought the film was good. I watched it from when it first aired on Sky and I was immediately hooked (although it took me until Season 4 to fall in love with Spike)
2. Pirates of the Caribbean. I saw the first film when I was in Tampa for my first Buffy convention. A big group of us went and I fell in love with it immediately. When I came back to England I wanted to see it again, only to discover it hadn't been released yet. LOL
3. Lord of the Rings. I will openly admit I hadn't read the books when the films came out and indeed I really didn't become a true fan until after I'd seen all three films at the cinema. Then the fannishness began
4. Hornblower. I really couldn't work up any enthusiasm for this when I borrowed the DVDs from my mum but as soon as I saw the first episode I fell in love. Especially with Pellew.
5. Battlestar Galactica. I actually watched the mini-series about 3 years ago when I was visitingnam_melon and I didn't really get into it. Then (after I'd discovered Jamie) I watched it again I realised it was brilliant. I soon became a Lee/Kara shipper.
