I had a dream I was on another cruise last night and we had a Team Herpes reunion. God, I wish I was still in the Caribbean. In my dream I spent a lot of time hanging with James Leary which is weird because he's probably the person I spoke to least. I was trying to get hime to sign this pic but he hid it and then was watching in amusement as I was running around trying to find it. Then he deciced to sign this pic instead. LOL. Jonathan was there too but I didn't really get to speak to him.

Last night

CSI the board game was a lot of fun. Like a modern version of Cluedo. Really hard too. None of us managed to solve 100% of the case. Greg, Jacqui and I got one thing wrong each and James got two wrong.

I demonstrated Third Age to Greg but there wasn't really much to see as I was just running around Helm's Deep talking to everyone before the big battle. Didn't actually start fighting as it was nearly time for Big Brother and Helm's Deep takes AGES

Big Brother was slightly more sane last night. Makosi seems to have forgotten about the crazy pregnancy claim. Science seemed to react pretty calmly to the news that he was up for eviction, although I still can't understand what he's talking about. Maxwell continues to disgust me. He thought it was amusing to fill the toilet brush holder with water and then chase Craig and Anthony around the house so he could dump the water over their heads. Then he got pissed off when Science had a go at him for throwing shitty water around in the kitchen. Come on Maxwell, it IS disgusting. Of course he refused to apologise. Wanker!

Read some more Two Towers last night and the gang has just set off for Helm's Deep, leaving Eowyn behind to be in charge of Rohan while they're away. Eowyn already seems to have fallen in love with Aragorn. Interesting

Shit

There seems to have been a massive incident in London. Several tube stations have closed and there have been reports of explosions. At first it was reported to have been caused by a power surge but now a bus has exploded too and the news is reporting it as a possible terrorist attack. Coincidence that we won the olympics yesterday?

I was supposed to be going to London in a couple of weeks to visit [livejournal.com profile] bornmiddleaged. Not sure that will be happening now

Still waiting to hear from 3 of my friends in London. I've tried calling them at work and texting but with no result. There's obviously a lot going on at the moment but I'll be happier when I know they're ok

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] bornmiddleaged has just phoned from work and he and my other two friends are fine. Thank god!

Shit!

I forgot about [livejournal.com profile] mrthursday. Has anyone heard from him. I only have his work number and it's engaged which means either he's ok or it's a central line and is being used by others

Edit: I sent Tom a text and he said Rob is ok. Good, I think that's everyone now

I have a parcel to collect from the post office. It must be Boromir since I don't have anything else ordered. Bloody hell, that was quick. He came from Hong Kong and I only ordered him on Saturday

I've got another £2 voucher to use on DVDs. What the hell should I buy now? Suggestions/recommendations anyone?

Since the war in Iraq I have had nothing but distate for Tony Blair but today that changed. His plan for the event of a terrorist attack, which I scorned because I thought it was just making people more afraid, has worked. Everyone in London has worked quickly to tend to the wounded and get traffic up and running again. Blair's speech had our whole office in silence today and he vowed that we would not let the terrorists win

Damn right we won't. If anything this has just brought us closer together and made us stronger and more unified

Well done Tony.

Quoted from [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum

Initial shock over, we have reverted to "Fuck you, we've been bombed by professionals!" mode, and intend to stay there.

Yup, that's us! As I said to [livejournal.com profile] jslayeruk I feel proud to be British right now. We've handled this really well. No panic or running around. The main stations are all open and running again and the tube will be open again in the morning (where possible).
