Work update
May. 19th, 2005 11:20 amWell, my boss was very nice which was something.
I've been given the rest of the week off as special paid leave but the maximum they're allowed to give is 5 days so I'm not really sure what I'm going to do about next week
I can either take it as holiday or as unpaid leave I guess
Or try and get signed off with stress by the doctor, which is probably a bit cheeky.
I'll have to think about it and I've been asked to phone my boss tomorrow to talk about what I want to do

To nap or not to nap
May. 19th, 2005 01:20 pmI'm still tired, despite the fact I didn't get up until 10:30. I dunno if the tiredness is a result of all the stress or not. I also don't know if I should go back to bed. I'm worried I'll get into the habit of just sleeping ALL the time, which I don't really want to do.
I'll try and stick it out. I've had a look at my VigBean fic and I've corrected all the small things but there are some parts that are going to need totally re-writing and my brain can't cope with that at the moment. LOL
I'll just sit here and surf for a bit

Finally some progress
May. 19th, 2005 05:57 pmJust got a call to say the flat people are letting us in tomorrow and Monday to get the rest of our stuff out. Both my parents are working tomorrow so both Jacqui and I are going to go on Monday and save everything
Obviously we don't have anywhere to move our furniture TO yet so Jacqui is going to arrange for the big stuff to be put into storage until Friday when we can move it into the new place
*crosses fingers that PC is ok*

Ode to Boromir
May. 19th, 2005 06:28 pmI've started reading the Two Towers. Why oh why did they not film the lovely song that Aragorn and Legolas sing about Boromir after he's died
Through Rohan over fen and field where the long grass grows
The West Wind comes walking, and about the walls it goes
'What news from the West, O wandering wind, do you bring me tonight?
Have you seen Boromir the Tall by moon or by starlight?'
'I saw him ride over seven streams, over waters wide ang grey;
I saw him walk in empty lands, until he passed away
Into the shadows of the North. I saw him then no more.
The North Wind may have heard the horn of the son of Denethor.'
'O Boromir! From the high walls westward I looked afar,
But you came not from the empty lands where no men are.'
From the mouths of the Sea the South Wind flies, from the sandhills and the stones
The wailing of the gulls it bears, and at the gate it moans.
'What news from the South, O sighing wind, do you bring to me at eve?
Where now is Boromir the Fair? He tarries and I grieve.'
'Ask not of me where ho doth dwell - so many bones there lie
On the white shores and the dark shores under the stormy sky;
So many have passed down Anduin to find the flowing Sea.
Ask of the North Wind news of them the North Wind sends to me!'
'O Boromir! Beyond the gate the seaward road runs south,
But you came not with the wailing gulls from the grey sea's mouth
From the Gate of Kings the North Wind rides, and past the roaring falls
And clear and cold about the tower its loud horn calls.
'What news from the North, O mighty wind, do you bring to me today?
What news of Boromir the Bold? For he is long away.'
'Beneath Amon Hen I heard his cry. There many foes he fought.
His cloven shield, his broken sword, they to the water brought.
His head so proud, his face so fair, his limbs they laid to rest;
And Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, bore him upon its breast.'
'O Boromir! The Tower of Guard shall ever northward gaze
To Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, until the end of days.'
