Hello 2021

hilsI know New Years are supposed to be about hope and resolutions but, honestly, I can't see things changing for the better for at least a few more months. Maybe by my birthday this year it'll be safe enough for me to go somewhere and actually visit someone but who knows what's going to happen.
2021 didn't get off to the best start. I was supposed to stream a k-pop concert for a group of friends this morning (VERY early at 4am) but alas I quaffed too much wine on New Year's Even and ended up turning off my alarm in my sleep and waking up an hour and a half after the concert had started. I hauled my very hungover ass online for a bit and did get to have a nice chat and see in the new year with my friends who are on the west coast of the US. Then I went back to bed and feel a lot more human now I've slept some more.
In fandom news I finished Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty yesterday. It was good! I loved that it was trundling along quite happily doing its thing and then about 10 episodes from the end it just slammed its foot on the gas and didn't slow down until it was over. I went from casually watching to binging over the Christmas break.
I've decided to watch something silly for my next show but I'm putting starting anything new on hold because I really need to get on with my![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
sundial_exchange fic. Check-in is on Tuesday and I still only have a detailed plot outline. I'm starting to panic. Going to crack on this weekend and try and make a good dent in it.
And, speaking of fic, something magical happened on Twitter over the Christmas break. After Bai Yu released a new commercialnaye was saying it would go really well with a mini movie Zhu Yilong had done earlier in the year. We were wondering how we could make this fic a reality when yue_ix rallied the troops, encouraged a few of us to write a small section each and as a result a whole fic came into being!
