Checking In
Nov. 2nd, 2020 04:09 pmAnd here we are at another Monday, with the UK set to go into another lockdown on Thursday except not really because schools and other essential businesses are staying open. IDK I'm just Tired at this point. I know there are people out there not following the rules, but the government doesn't seem to be taking any responsibility for the fact that they told everyone to go back to school and work and and is now acting surprised when our COVID numbers shot through the roof.
I had a nice, quiet weekend at least.
The Halloween Zoom party was nice and chill. Some of the guys did full cosplay, some did the bare minimum and some didn't bother at all. There are no rules in quarantine you do whatever makes you happy. We played some games and had some laughs it was all good.
Saturday was pretty quiet. I managed to get an episode of Love and Redemption watched before my usual Stardew Valley game with Emma. Since
thebonwitch was doing Halloween stuff we didn't get any Mystic Nine watched but we did do Animal Crossing Halloween which was really fun. Bon came over to my island where it was night and we did all the Halloween shenanigans together and chatted on Discord while we were playing. Poor
amedawg18 joined us on Discord and we were trying to explain the game to her even though she couldn't see what we were doing. It was fun though.
We did our weekly streaming of Gank Your Heart but because a lot of people had Halloween plans it was just a small group. It was still fun though. It's a silly show but I'm enjoying it more than My Strange Friend. It's nice to see Yibo playing someone who is kind of an asshole (although I suspect it will turn out it's all a big misunderstanding and he's actually a soft boy). Afterwards Amy and I did our usual k-pop session which was fun. I'm finding that we've kind of settled into mostly just watching stuff from our favourite artists now which is all good. There are some other k-pop groups I want to check out though but I'll probably do what I did with ONEUS (who are now firmly in my top 5) and listen to stuff first and check out videos after.
Sunday we FINALLY finished Street Dance of China 3. I worked out that watching one episode per week plus the 3 part finale meant we've been watching this every Sunday morning (my time) for three and a half months. 2 Australians, 2 Germans, an American and a Brit. It's definitely been an international viewing. Not sure what we're going to do now it's over but we all agreed we want to keep meeting and watching something together.
After watching yet more k-pop Amy and I watched a Korean movie that
thebonwitch had recommended to us. Illang: The Wolf Brigade. We enjoyed it. The world building was fascinating. Now my sister and my ex are both telling me I need to watch the animated series that the movie was based on because apparently it's even better. I'll add it to the list I guess...
I have a short week at work this week because I'm attending a virtual convention this weekend that's running on US time so I took the Friday and following Monday off to sleep. Should be fun. Amy and Bon are coming too and we're pretty much all attending the same panels. When we're not paneling we're going to watch more Mystic Nine I think. Should be a fun weekend.
I thought I might get Love and Redemption finished by the weekend but that might have been overly optimistic. I've got 22 episodes left and even if I cram in a bunch on Friday before the con starts I don't think I'll manage. Should be done by some time next week though. It's getting more angsty now but I'm still loving it.
