The Struggle is Real

I really don't understand why I'm struggling to edit my Untamed fic. I've done the hard part and written it! All I need to do is some tweaking so it's at the point where I'm ready to send it to a beta. I finished writing it 5 weeks ago and I just don't seem to be able to get into the editing mindset. I did a little bit while I was at the cabin a couple of weeks ago before I decided it was Too Hot and went and sat outside with a cold drink and some music.

I'm going to make an effort this week I think. Now that we've finished Life on Mars I have a bit more time in the evenings again so we'll see how it goes.

It's really frustrating because I have other things I want to write but I don't want to start anything new until this one is at least with a beta.

Whatever's causing the struggle, I hope you're able to push past/get around it!

I have found that sometimes it is editing that seems to take 90% of the time. Admittedly, I haven't written fiction in longer than I want to admit, but even with non-fiction (reports, essays, etc) it sometimes seems like writing it is the easiest part.
