For once I don't really have anything to say about work. It was just a day. I did a post office run and that was the most interesting thing really.

2 days until cabin shenanigans. I am pretty much just counting the days at this point.

In fandom news I am trundling along with Lost Tomb 2. It's not that I'm not enjoying it. It's still a lot of fun. I'd just rather be watching Reboot but I promised [twitter.com profile] madamoisellebon that I'd save it for the weekend so we can watch together. I am going to cry if the wifi in the cabin isn't up to streaming after this waiting.

Jacqui and I started the Korean version of Life on Mars last night. We watched the first two episodes and overall it's off to a good start.

I like that it's similar enough to the BBC version that you know what to expect but also has made some small changes which keeps it interesting.

The first two episodes follow the BBC storyline pretty closely. Guy gets hit by a car while investigating a crime where his ex is the victim, wakes up in the past, has to solve a very similar crime to the one from the present day. Episode 2 ended up with him standing on a roof in 1988, convinced that if he jumps off he'll wake up back in 2018.

The characters are pretty similar to their BBC counterparts as well to the point where we could easily identify who was who.

The changes they've made are interesting ones and I'm curious to see what they do with it further down the line. Han Tae Joo (the Sam Tyler character) works in a forensics lab rather than being a regular detective. We've already had some fun scenes with him bonding with the local pathologist about DNA and putting together rudimentary forensic tests at crime scenes. I hope we see more stuff like that.

We're not quite at the point where he's friends with Kang Dong Cheol (the Gene Hunt character) yet but there's already been some fun moments with them scrapping and trying to outdo each other. I think in a few more episodes this will be a great on-screen relationship.

Another interesting change is the criminal Han Tae Joo was chasing in the modern day indicated that they knew each other in the past, but unlike the BBC version he had nothing to do with the crime in 1988. So something is clearly going to happen with that at some point and I'm really interested to see how it plays out.

Jacqui and I both enjoyed it though and we're going to watch some more tonight. There's only 16 episodes in total but they run at just over an hour each so we really only have time for a couple at a time.

It's funny I was talking about this on Twitter a couple of days ago. I started The Untamed in mid-April and that was my first Asian drama. Since then I have watched...uh...quite a few.

And then my currently watching list because I am watching various shows with friends as well as on my own

My to watch list is now so long that it won't fit on one screen. And I'm fairly sure there are things people have recommended to me that I've forgotten to add...

Korean Life on Mars sounds great. I loved the British original. And I love Han Tae Joo's actor Jung Kyung Ho. He was fantastic in Hospital Playlist and I would like to see him in something else. But, argh, I have too many things on my to watch list, too. So I think this drama will have to wait. But I'm looking forward to your reactions. :)
