I can't believe my 5 days off work are almost over! It's amazing how fast time flies even when you're not doing a huge amount. Still, I'm only back at work for a couple of weeks and then it's my long weekend away in the cabin.

Yesterday was another day of watching ALL OF THE SHOWS! I watched another episode of Street Dance of China in the morning with the Australians and a few of the European group chat members joined too. We all got quite emotional at the end when some of the contestants got sent home and all the team captains were crying. The show's producer made a really nice speech too and then he started crying too. You know you're in a fandom space when you've got a bunch of people from a variety of countries all sniffling down their microphones at each other over a dance show.

As I mentioned yesterday I decided to shelve my fic and focus on finishing The Lost Tomb Reboot which I did! Livetweets here and some overall thoughts on the whole show under the cut.

After I quite enjoyed eps 26 & 27 things got weird and confusing again. From talking to [personal profile] naye the end of the show suffered quite heavily under the censorship knife. Even the scene where Wu Xie explains everything that's going on to Pangzi I still didn't really understand. So the last few episodes were mostly me just coasting along in confusion and enjoying looking at Zhu Yilong's face.

I am hopeful that the second season will go back to the more classic action/adventure show that Reboot started off as. The Warehouse 11 storyline seems to be mostly wrapped up now although Wu Xie has now been made a department director so I guess it's not 100% done.

I really want to know what's going on with Erbai, Xiaoge and Sunglasses. Apart from one tiny scene we haven't seen them at all since the whole Warehouse 11 storyline started.

I also thing they are actually setting up a Wu Xie/Xiao Bai romance. They've started having these cute little moments with them staring at each other and smiling. They both hold the same rank in Warehouse 11 now so the power dynamic is a little less uneven now. I don't know if they go there I don't think I'd hate it. It doesn't feel forced like some romances in TV do. Generally if the characters are interesting and have good chemistry I'm into it.

Of course this all depends on whether season 2 ever actually sees the light of day. There's still no confirmed release date although they have released a trailer for it. I don't know I'm still worried it's going to disappear into a black hole like a lot of Chinese shows seem to do. When I'm actually watching episode 1 maybe I'll relax.

So, overall I'd say I really enjoyed the first half of season 1 and I enjoyed elements of the second half.

And to carry on the Lost Tomb theme [twitter.com profile] madamoisellebon and I watched another 4 episodes of Lost Tomb 1. We finished pretty late so I haven't done a Twitter recap yet but overall we are both still loving it a lot and we're going to watch the rest of it on Saturday.

So I kind of have a gap in my viewing schedule now.

I'm about to watch another episode of Street Dance of China with the Australians which will bring us up to date with the episodes that have been translated, I've finished Lost Tomb Reboot, I'm saving Lost Tomb 1 for Saturday to watch with Bon.

I need to find something short to watch really, just to fill the time this week. Once Bon and I have finished Lost Tomb 1 we're going to start Lost Tomb 2 which is a lot longer (40 episodes whereas LT1 is only 10). Once we start LT2 we're going to do what we did with Reboot and watch on our own during the week and then watch wherever we're up to together at the weekend.

I signed up to MyDramaList yesterday. If you want to follow me there I'm here.

Having looked at my To Watch list Kingdom is only 6 episodes which is exactly the sort of length I need. So I guess I'll be doing that.

Just FYI re: Kingdom, the first season ends on a cliffhanger and from what I've heard the second season does, too (I haven't watched it yet bc I'm not emotionally equipped for cliffhangers these days). So yes, there's only six episodes, but... I didn't realize the six episodes didn't tell a complete story and would like to spare others that unpleasant surprise. It's a fantastic show and I loved it, but yeah. Be prepared?
