I Have Achieved!

When I finished work ahead of my days off I joked I was going to sit around and watch k-pop videos for 5 days. As fun as that sounds my brain isn't wired that way. I like to feel like I've achieved something even if that something is making progress on a TV show.

Yesterday I assembled my September playlist. I love that considering it's a playlist made up of songs friends have recommended to me I'd say about a third of this month's is k-pop. Some of it from artists I know and some of it new stuff. Can't wait to give it a proper listen.

I have completed my Untamed fic! Kind of? Something is missing and I'm hoping I'll figure out what it is during the editing process. If not I hope my beta can figure out what it is. So while I'm pleased to have a completed first draft I don't feel entirely satisfied. I'm going to make a start on editing it this afternoon.

madamoisellebon and I have decided to finish Lost Tomb Reboot on our own and start the Lost Tomb 1 tonight instead. I thought finishing Reboot might be a bit ambitious. I've got 4 episodes left to watch and I think she has 6. I'm looking forward to seeing the characters portrayed by other actors though. From what I've heard Lost Tomb 1 is a lot of fun and at least it's only 10 episodes.

I've already had a couple of people ask me to livetweet Lost Tomb 1 so I'm glad people are enjoying what I'm doing with Reboot. It's like doing an audio commentary I guess, but with words and screenshots. IDK I have fun doing it and people seem to enjoy reading them so I see no reason to stop. I'm making sure to tag everything so people can mute. I imagine it's a bit much for people like my hockey friends who don't care.

So that's on the agenda for this evening and it's sounding like quite a few people will be joining us for My Strange Friend. Instead of playing Stardew Valley this afternoon I'm going to stream the 3 episodes we watched last Saturday for Emma so she knows what's going on when we watch tonight. Not that the show makes much sense either way but I don't mind watching Yibo being pretty for an hour and a half.

After all I was saying about struggling with Lost Tomb Reboot the episodes I watched yesterday went back to being fun and engaging. Still not quite as fun as when they were running around tombs but I'm enjoying it again. Livetweets here.


I think now we're over the hump of Wu Xie repeatedly taking the exam and cheating in increasingly elaborate ways the show is getting interesting again. We've had attempted murder, actual murder, poisoning, creepy underwater dolls, and Wu Xie having some of the dumbest plans I have ever heard.

There is definitely something suspicious about Xiao Bai but I don't want there to be because she is cute and adorable. I don't think their relationship is going anywhere romantic but I also don't think I'd hate it if it did.

I'm still skipping all of Pangzi's storyline because it's continuing to make me uncomfortable. I'm still desperate for the Iron Triangle to reunite. There had better be ALL OF THE HUGS when it happens.

I don't think I'm going to have time to watch any Reboot today but I might make a push to finish it tomorrow. I'm sort of thinking about starting Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty as I've heard a lot of good things about it but I'm not sure I have the brain space to watch multiple cdramas at the same time. I'll see how I feel I guess.

From what I've heard Lost Tomb 1 is a lot of fun and at least it's only 10 episodes.
I hope you enjoy it! I tapped out during episode 5 but I think if you're watching with someone it should have enough entertainment to keep you going.

Oooh okay! Can I ask why? Is it problematic or just not good?

1) The budget, acting, sets and directing is all a huge step down from TLTR. But like you said, it's only 10 episodes!
2) Wu Xie & co capture a female bad guy and Pangzi makes jokes about how they're not going to rape her and acts offended when she doesn't want him to touch her and I was out. Obviously YMMV but that just put me off too much.

Disclaimer: I watch relatively little TV so it usually takes more for me to complete a show than to drop it, and something like this is probably more fun with alcohol and company (neither of which I had).
