It's nearly 2pm on Saturday and all I have achieved so far today is having a shower and eating some lunch. The rest of the day has just been spent lounging in bed playing games on my phone/Switch and reading social media.

I know weekends are for relaxing but I've got so much stuff to watch/read/write that lying around just kind of feels like a waste.

I'm going to try and get some writing done this afternoon/evening. It's been a few days since I've had any time to do it and I don't want to lose whatever flow I've managed to build up.

There's another early Avs game tonight so I will watch that. Last night's was a lot of fun. The game was tied until about 3 minutes from the end. I'm still not 100% invested in hockey the way I was before the NHL suspended play due to COVID but it's very easy to get caught up in the excitement when you're actually watching a game.

Also managed to squeeze in an episode of The Lost Tomb: Reboot which ended up being surprisingly tense. Yelling on Twitter here

I suffer from mild claustrophobia and what I have learned watching this show is that seeing characters in small enclosed spaces is something of a trigger. A few episodes back Wu Xie got buried during a cave-in which made me feel a bit anxious but he quickly dug himself out so it didn't last very long.

Last night the Iron Triangle started crawling down a tight tunnel which got progressively smaller the further along they went. Watching it made me feel kind of sick so that was fun.

It was a pretty dramatic episode which ended with 2/3 of the Iron Triangle going blind and Wu Xie having to talk them through a series of jumps so they could escape the creatures that were chasing them. Even though I knew they were going to be fine (it's only episode 8 of 32) but it still made me super anxious so I guess that's acting and storytelling done well.

I'm starting to see why everyone laughs about Wu Xie and his terrible plans. In the space of one episode he decided to ignore a dire warning that said 'turn back if you ever want to see the light of day again' because he didn't believe it. Then he decided that while they were standing a room designed to capture and amplify the sound of thunder that they should play a recording of thunder and see what happened. Then he seemed surprised at the resulting deafening noise and hallucinations.

Honestly, I'm amazed any of them are still alive if he's their leader. This is probably why I was so anxious about him guiding the other two when they were blind.

But it's all fun and hopefully I can squeeze in another episode before the hockey tonight.
