Survived my first day of being the boss. 9 more to go. Stress levels still low so fingers crossed it stays that way. I am lucky that I work on an awesome team, and that my boss's boss is also great so I have plenty of support if I need it.

Had a productive afternoon/evening yesterday. Got 1300 words of my next [community profile] hc_bingo fic written, which isn't quite as much as I wanted to get done but still a good chunk. I'm going to write a bit more after I get done with this post. Going to try and get back into the habit of writing every day even if it's just a few hundred words.

I'm about halfway through reading a Guardian zombie apocalypse AU and it's very good so I read a chunk more of it yesterday.

Then, in the evening, I finished Detective L. I'm pretty sure no one care about this show but I want to have a bit of a ramble about the final episode so I'll put my thoughts under a cut just in case anyone is thinking of watching it.

As I was getting towards the end I was struggling to see how they were going to wrap everything up by the final episode. And, alas, that's because they don't. It ends on a cliffhanger and as far as I know there's no plans to make any more, which is a shame because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

And I was totally right about the psychologist! They lulled me into a false sense of security by having him get arrested halfway through the show, and then having him repeatedly assaulted in prison. Just when I was thinking I was wrong about him he killed the prison doctor and escaped.

Damn, I would have really loved to have seen a second season with him and Luo Fei repeatedly trying to outsmart each other like Holmes and Moriarty.

Oh, well, this isn't the first show I've loved to be cancelled without a satisfying ending and I doubt it will be the last.

Despite the ending I would still recommend it. The characters are great, the cases are interesting (I don't think I correctly solved any of them) and the costumes and set design are gorgeous

Next on the agenda is The Lost Tomb Reboot. May as well stick with the theme of Guardian actors in other roles. I've been looking forward to this for ages.

If you are at all into RPGs I highly recommend "The King's Avatar" and another favorite is "Memories of Alhambra" both on Netfix. Memories was the one that kicked off my fascination with kdramas and cdramas and jdramas.

I still haven't watched the last arc of Detective L because that way it's easier to be in denial about the cliffhanger! ^^;

And yayyyy hope you like the good bits of the Tomb Show! (There are many bits of the show I just...ignore...)
