A Good Day

WOO HOO! My mid-year appraisals are finally all done! Now I don't need to think about appraisals until December.

And in other good news I had a lovely surprise today. This afternoon I received an email saying I'd been given an Inspiring People award for all the work I've done packaging up fobs and taking them to the post office, including when I did 50 of them on my week off. The award is a £100 gift card which can be used in a bunch of different shops (online). I got one back in March for working a crazy amount of overtime to get everyone set up working from home which I used to upgrade my ancient Kindle to a shiny new one. I have no idea what to spend this one on.

It's really nice to be appreciated though. I didn't expect this at all and I nearly started crying when I saw the email.

So, yeah, a good day.

It's movie night tonight and the movie that has been chosen is Safety Not Guaranteed which I have never seen or heard of. That's what's fun about movie night, because a different person picks the movie each week we all get to see things that are new to us. Haven't seen a bad film yet so I think everyone on my team has pretty similar tastes.

I'm going to try and squeeze in an episode or two of Detective L beforehand. Shit is getting real.

So, it turned out the pretty psychologist WAS a criminal, but not the criminal mastermind. I don't think. He's in prison now but I feel like he wanted to be there? So possibly the shenanigans are not over yet.

Aww, you deserve that award! I'm so glad your job actually values all the work you do for them.

That is a wonderful surprise. My semi-ancient Kindle is having trouble holding its charge, but I am trying to put off upgrading as long as possible because COVID has thrown a bunch of curves at my profession.
