Hello everyone I am back from my hockey road trip. SO MUCH FUN!

I'll try and do some posts and share a few pics in the next couple of days but in the meantime I have a question.

I think I want to try and do a scrapbook for my trip. I have tickets and other stuff as well as all my photos and I thought it might be fun. Only thing is I haven't made any sort of scrapbook since I was about 6 years old when I used to do them on family holidays.

Anyone got any tips? It's been suggested I try Hobbycraft for supplies but that's about as far as I got. I am in no way an artistic person so simple stuff appreciated

There are scrapbooking websites, but they dometime go overboard. You might look at online scrapbook makers like Collage.  You can upload your photos and arrange tthem, add text, background, and other stuff.  You could scan in your stubs or just take pictures of them. When you finish, they send you the book.   It's pretty easy and might be easier and cheaper than buying all the supplies.

You can still buy clear self adhesive photo corners to hold tickets and things in place without damaging them by gluing them. A photo album with a large spiral binding allows for the increased bulk caused by adding extra thickness to each page from adding additional items.
That's about all I know about scrap books.

Oh, gosh, I remember those corners from years ago. Nice to hear they still make them :D

I see lots of people told you to go to hobby craft and that's a good idea ;)

I always think a scrapbook can be whatever you want - it's your memories!

There's nothing like the atmosphere of a hockey game is there? Especially if your team wins. Did they have all the competitions and the teams of tiny kids playing in the intermissions? -- that's actually one of my favourite bits :-)

I'll be seeing the Pens when I go to Vancouver in March but, of course, I'll be cheering for the Canucks!

OMG YES! I was hooked after my first game and am already making plans to go back for some more at the start of next season.

And yes they did have lots of silly little games and kids during the breaks. Lots of fun.

Of course it helped that the Pens won both games I went to. There were lots of annoyed Canadian in Montreal that night I bet, although the Habs fans sitting next to me were very polite.

Hobbycraft do indeed do some really reasonable albums, some of them even have plain covers you can decorate too.

I'd get the largest size you can manage/store, and include odd numbers of pictures and at least one journalling area on each page - this would include where you were, who was there with you, what you were doing and anything else you think might be interesting in the future when you really won't remember the detail - it's really frustrating trying to remember, for instance, just who the guy in the black tee was, trust me!

You can get some little plastic pockets to stick on the page to put memorabilia in, which means it won't get damaged by glue etc...

I'd have a browse on pinterest to get an idea for layouts - ultimately it's personal choice and some people like the page to be packed, and others like white space to make the pics pop.

Sounds like an exciting project!
