Totally failed at updating over the weekend but I didn't do a huge amount. Saturday I had an 'I really can't be arsed' day and spent most of it playing video games. I did watch Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which although quite different from the book was still tons of fun.

Sunday I ventured forth for my traditional Sunday walk into town to write in my local coffee shop. It was actually really productive! I finished off the final extra scene I wanted to add and made a good dent into the editing of the rest. I've got about 20 pages left to do I think so I am hoping to be done by the end of this weekend. It was 15k when I started editing and it's now at 22k and I'm not done yet O.O

I also realised that I had yet to book my train tickets for the Hannibal convention which in my mind was still a couple of weeks away. Luckily I got a good deal on the tickets because I realised this morning that the con is actually next weekend. How has that happened?

I also went crayon shopping because I am an adult who needs crayons for my colouring book :-p

My artist friends suggested getting some Crayola pencils as well so who am I to ignore wise advice. And then when I went to pay they had some nice pens reduced to £1 and one of them was purple so I had to get one of course.

In the evening I watched the Sweden/Europe world cup game. Sweden lost but honestly I think the best team won. I don't know what was going on with Sweden but they didn't seem to have their head in the game. So the final is now Canada/Europe which I don't think anyone expected.

So, today I did a thing. A couple of weeks back I had this conversation on Twitter

Today I booked my flights. Yep, I am doing a US/Canada road trip in Jan with several hockey games including a couple of Pens games. This is the most insane thing I have done in a long time! But I'm excited though...

The best pencils I've found for colouring in are ones I got about 20 years ago & they don't make any more but they're Staedtler Noris watercolour pencils & they are amazing. Looks like they've been replaced with the Staedtler Noris Club aquarell. They don't look the same but they're in the same sort of price range. The Karat version is the artist level one and starts at like $30 for 12 and there's no way I can afford that. Inktense are also great but they cost a fortune too.
I love these pencils because they lay down a heap of pigment. I get annoyed at ones that are too light. I haven't used the new version yet, I plan to get a pack soon, so I can't say for sure they're as awesome. But they have the added benefit of being able to blend them with water.
Here's a pic of the colour
