I'm back! Temporarily...

Just got back from a long weekend in Nottingham. It was a colleague's stag do and we went to Warhammer World and played 40k for a weekend. Never been on a stag do before but I appreciated how geeky it was :D

Wasn't really sure what it was going to be like. I've played 40k before under Simon's (the stag) tutelage. but this was a BIG game with two players on each side combining their armies.

I did appallingly on the first day (we lost 12-0) and better the second day (we won 6-1) but it was fun! Tiring though. I am so bad at strategy games and concentrating for lengthy periods like that was exhausting. But we had nice chilled out evenings with food and alcohol.

We went to an awesome Russian vodka bar on Friday night which did amazing food and so many different flavours of vodka. Of course we had to try some for science.



Many flavours of vodka. Many.


I also had a burger with Wotsits in it. It was surprisingly nice.


I tried the white chocolate and pancake syrup vodkas. They were both really nice and tasted exactly like the things they were supposed to taste of. It was really odd. Also launched into movie!Illya speak. I would like bigger glass :D

Rashers of bacon sandwiched in between pancakes. Best breakfast.


I got to wear the awesome Black Widow shirt jacqui_hw got me for my birthday


This is the table we did battle on over the weekend.


My Wraithknight. I say mine it's Simon's. He put together an army for me since I don't play


Kathryn's Harridan was the biggest draw of the weekend. Loads of people stopped by our table to have a look at it. It's massive and pretty much indestructible.


In the evening I practiced being an American ready for my trip. Although my American friends on Facebook have assured me that this isn't actually what people eat over there ;)


This was last night's dessert. Chocolate brownie and turkish delight ice cream. SO GOOD.


Last night we chilled out back at the hotel and drank. I had to drink my wine out of a mug because that was all we had. So classy.


Many bottles in the bin. Not all mine I hasten to add.


This morning's breakfast. It's been a very pancakey weekend. Hils greatly approves.

And so I got home this afternoon and I have the rest of the day and tomorrow and then I fly to the US. I certainly know how to keep myself busy!

I love Revolution's salted caramel popcorn vodka. I wish you could buy bottles of it to take home!

No, I stuck with the 'safe' sweet vodkas. The white chocolate one was like drinking an alcoholic milky bar. SO GOOD
