hilsThis is going to be my last fic rec post for a few weeks as I am going on vacation to a land of no internet (hold me). My kindle is full of fics though so hopefully I'll have a HUGE post to do when I get back :D

But somewhere along the line, he got it into his head that not only does he have to give me something every year, but that every year's gift has to be 'better' than the year before--by some strange measure of 'better' that only he understands."

You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To by emilianadarling
“What about you, Barnes?” asks Dugan. The sound of his voice brings Bucky back to the present, dredges him out of memories of a beat-up little apartment with sunlight streaming in through the windows. “Got yourself a girl waiting for you back home?”
There’s an answer on the tip of his tongue, one that he’ll deliver with a cocky grin and a half-laugh and a little shake of his head. But Bucky is exhausted and hungry and so sore it hurts to move, and one of the guys in their platoon fucking died yesterday. His mouth tastes like iodine water and his feet hurt and none of it’s going to get better any time soon, and all at once Bucky misses Steve so badly he can barely see straight.
“Yeah,” Bucky declares abruptly, the word escaping from his mouth before he fully realizes what he’s saying. “Yeah, I do.”
This is the first time I’ve listened to a podfic for something that I hadn’t previously read and it was really good! The reader has a great voice and the fic is excellent even if it did give me a lot of feels.

He’s not one and he’s not the other, and he’s not sure if that makes him anything worth saving.
[In which the Winter Soldier leads Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson on a wild goose chase through Eastern Europe so that he can learn more about the man who actually thinks he can be saved.]
