My insurance only covers my phone if it gets stolen from the house.

Which means I am essentially going to have to spend all my savings replacing it.

No holiday for me this year :(

Is that phone insurance or your actual home contents insurance? Seems pretty useless either way. :-( I'm so sorry your trip down to London got spoiled by this.

It's my home insurance. I thought it covered my phone anywhere so I never bothered with separate phone insurance

Yeah, usually contents insurance covers "valuables" - like phones, cameras, laptops etc. - when you're outside the home. Whoever you're with I think I'll avoid them!! :-(

Like aggybird says, look into refurbished. Everything I've heard from people who go refurbished are just as happy as if they'd bought new, and it should cost you a lot less.
