hilsWe're now just 3 episodes away from finishing S2
I seem to spend a lot of this show shouting at the TV. Most of the characters are incredibly dumb. Like when Alaric/Klaus held a knife to Jenna, Stefan pushed him away and told Jenna to run and she just stood there staring at him. IF SOMEONE RESCUES YOU FROM KNIFEPOINT YOU FUCKING RUN AWAY.
Ditto the flashbacks to Jonathan Gilbert where he and his friend went out to investigate a strange noise. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT WHEN YOU KNOW VAMPIRES EXIST
And, urgh, everyone is so willing to sacrifice themselves for everyone else. At least when Buffy did it she got upset about the prospect of dying even though she knew she had to do it. None of these people seem to care.
Thank god for Damon and Caroline who are the only characters I like in this show (but I don't ship them). And even Damon is kind of annoying when he's mooning over Elena. At least he seems to be over that for the moment.
I also find myself surprisingly liking Elijah even though he, like everyone else, is in love with Katherine/Elena.
I was most unimpressed when Klaus possessed Alaric, even if it was kind of fun. What does it say about me that that upset me way more than the Leviathan possessing Castiel did. Oh well.
I didn't buy for a second that Bonnie was dead so any dramatic impact over her 'death' was lost on me.
I did, however, gasp out loud when the witch dude (I never did learn his name) stabbed Matt with a bottle.
I hope Matt stops being a dick soon. And I hate that they had that beautifully tragic scene where Caroline wiped her mother's memory and have now undone it by having her find out the truth again.
And I have a question. So, Klaus was originally interested in Katherine because she was a doppleganger and he needed her to break the curse, right? But she turned herself into a vampire so was no good and now he's going after Elena. Does this mean that there's an original or something else who both Katherine and Elena look like. They're both dopplegangers of someone else, right? I mean I don't want to know but I'm assuming that at some point a third character played by Nina is going to show up.
But, you know, for all the stupidity of this show I am rather enjoying it. It's filled the Smallville void nicely. Except, you know, I don't slash anyone.
I do kind of ship Katherine/Elijah now though.
