Nashcon: Monday & Tuesday

Monday started with much sadness as we said goodbye to sinnerforhire and morganoconner. Our room seemed very quiet without them :(

We took things easy for a while and then met up with squeemonster, lizajaneok and xenachakram12 at lunchtime. Squee very kindly offerd to drive us into Nashville so we could do some sightseeing.

First off though was lunch. I wish I could remember the place we went to as it was cheap and really good. It was a southern food buffet place and I got to try fried chicken, sweet potatoes, carrot and raisin salad, more catfish and lots of other yummy goodies.

We made a quick pit-stop at Target so Lisa could get some tennis shoes and then it was on to Nashville.

We headed for the area Richard recommended and the first thing we saw was a random act of kindness as the guy parked next to us gave his paid parking stub to someone who had just arrived. Parking was only $3 for the whole day but it was still a nice thing to see.

Seriously, I cannot see anything to do with flatbread without thinking of Castiel's 'He's not on any flatbread' line. Oh, Cas, I miss you :(

We went into a couple of really cool indie boutiques but this one was our fave

They had loads of cool jewellery and Holly came away with some angel wing earrings and Squee bough an angel wing pendant


The weather was insanely hot so we stopped at a frozen yoghurt place. SO GOOD. They had loads of different flavours and a million different toppings

Then it was time to walk into downtown Nashville








This place was for sale. We joked about buying it and having it as a fandom commune with conventions happening all the time. Obv Misha would have to live there with us

So once we were done shopping we decided to go to Monell's since Misha had spent so long raving about it. We headed back to the car and had an awesome cab driver who told us that the parking lot we were in used to be a strip club before it got knocked down. LOL! Perfect for us.

So, we got to Monell's and it was closed :(





So we amused ourselves by tweeting Misha and giving him some shit for it ;) Poor guy. Everything I tweeted everyone else in the car retweeted with their own comments. We must have spammed him to hell. It was funny at the time but I feel a little guilty now :-s

But it all worked out okay in the end. We went back to Caney Fork so I could try again to have gator and so we could enjoy the cheap mega-strong drinks. It was clearly the hand of fate that guided us because as soon as we sat down our waiter asked if we were here for the Supernatural covention. Turns out he's a huge fan of the show and was really sad he'd missed the chance to meet Misha. Not Jared or Jensen. It was Misha.

So clearly Godstiel had guided us there.

I can tell you now that waiter got a HUGE tip from all of us. LOL.

Of course we then had to tweet Misha and inform him of this :-s

We are teaching our waiter to tie his shoes the @mishacollins way since he is such a fan. His life will soon change for the better.

I finally had gator! It was kind of disappointing really. All I could taste was the seasoning




I had chocolate pie for Gabriel. It was good.

Tuesday came and it was time to say goodbye to Lisa and Jenni :( We had breakfast together first




Jimmy Dean turned into a discussion on Jimmy/Dean fanfic. LOL.

Holly and I spent the rest of the day lounging around the hotel, shopping and reading/writing fanfic

In the evening we went to a bar called Jack Daniel's. I'd been past a few times during the week and they always seemed to have really cool live music

And that was it. Vacation over :(

It was a lot of fun but I have to say I enjoyed the non-con (wait, that's not right). The non-convention parts of the trip most of all. I loved the incredible hotel and hanging out with all my friends. The con was fun, but it definitely lacked the spark that some of the other conventions I've been to have had.

And, sadly, I don't think I will be heading back to the US any time soon as I don't think I can afford it. Unless I go and stay with one of my friends and don't have to fork out for a hotel ;)

But A7 is in just over 4 months and I have a feeling it's going to be EPIC
