Sit with me a moment, gentle readers, while I tell you a tale.

Once upon a time, not so long ago, the inhabitants of the United Kingdom were sad. For, you see, there was a fabulous organisation called Writercon but alas and lackaday this glorious event was always held in the United States and the poor people of Britain did not have the coin to travel such distances.

Luckily for all a merrie band of fangirls decided to right this great wrong by borrowing the idea from the New World and making it their own. All were welcome, whether they be scribes, creators of art, gentle readers or those invaluable second pair of eyes who do verily make our creations fit for public viewing.

When this blessed event came into being there was much rejoicing and thus began the Golden Age of fandom in Britain.

Five years have passed since this first began and now the time is upon us again.

There will be much eating, drinking and merrymaking. Possibly even some educating.
