Ships that pass in the night

A lot of my Dean/Cas shipper friends seem to be really angry and upset at the direction S6 is taking, with the focus being on Sam and Sam/Cas being more prominent than Dean/Cas.

Now, I may talk a lot about Sassy and Mishalecki but that does not mean I've stopped shipping Dean/Cas. Far from it. I just started writing a Dean/Cas fic this week and the only other thing on my fic writing schedule for the year is deancasbigbang.

I think people don't understand that the way the show seems to work is that they take it in turns giving Sam and Dean the main plot arc. S1 - Dean finding his dad, S2 - Sam's psychic powers, S3 - Dean's deal, S4 - Sam's addiction, S5 - Dean averting the apocalypse, S6 - Sam's soul.

It's pretty even if you ask me.

Yes, I ship Sam/Cas so I am liking the way S6 is going but we've not been totally devoid of Dean/Cas either. Prfound bond, anyone. I just think at the moment Dean and Cas have a conflict of interests. Think of it as a lover's spat. I don't doubt that they will be back to having eyesex and being awesome by the end of the season. They just need to work some things out first.

So don't harsh on the Sam!girls and Sassy fans squee, D/C fans. Our boys will be back togther soon enough. Let those who like it enjoy it it and just enjoy the show.
