Quick question

Just a question for my UK flisties, particularly those of you who are teachers.
Dan, my shift partner, is looking to improve his English skills. He dropped out of school early and he struggles with grammar and spelling. He's bright, but this is just stuff he never really learned. I'm helping him has best I can but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a book that would help. It's just basic stuff like when to use a full stop and when to use a comma and the difference between been and being. Stuff like that.
Those of you who have done betas on my fics will know how hilarious it is me trying to teach someone when to use a comma ;)
Thanks!
