Looking forward and looking back
Jan. 1st, 2011 12:19 pmApologies for not posing a New Year message on here last night but I was quite drunk *g*
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
2011 is not getting off to a great start I am sad to report. I woke up this morning to crippling cramps and the curse of womanhood being upon me. Grr! So I am planning on spending most of today in bed.
New Year's Eve was fun though. My mum likes to veg in front of the TV but she made a pile of food first (I have pics to post later) so I stuffed my face and drank my Christmas wine.
Dad bought Tekken 6 for the PS3 so we played that for a while. Lei is still my favourite character. God, I remember playing the original Tekken (or was it Tekken 2?) with
flickums way back in the days of the original Playstation. Amazing to see how things have progressed in that time.
What did amuse me though was I played Devil Jin at one point and we had the background selecter on random. We wound up in a level called Azazel's Chamber. Devil Jin has black wings and starts the fight by asking his oponent if he fears the wrath of God.
So amusing.
So after Tekken we had a Trivial Pursuit rematch and I lost again. It was closer this time though. I was only one wedge behind.
Dad let off some fireworks at midnight and we sat up chatting until about 2am. He was looking through the photos on my camera (I haven't deleted anything since before A5) so I was explaining who Misha was. Then he got to the photo of
absdax holding my autograph so I had to explain about the whole Misha tweets thing. It was hilarious. Dad started asking me questions like Misha was a prospective suitor 'How old is he? Is he married?' etc. I was amused.
So that was my New Year's. Hope you all had a good one.
2010 was a good year for me. I feel so blessed. Hopefully 2011 will continue in the same vein.
And I shall end this post with some lovely words from the wonderful Neil Gaiman:
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself
