Final day of Roadhouse

I woke up with my voice half gone from all the shouting and singing at the party but it got a bit better as the morning progressed.

We had a hilarious moment at breakfast where someone asked [livejournal.com profile] littlehollyleaf if there was an AC/DC event going on in the hotel because we'd all be spotted wearing our t-shirts

I'd decided the day before that I wanted to do the coffee lounge with Sam as all it clashed with was the quiz so I wasn't too worried about missing that. I bid my money and then it was time for the talks to start.

It was joint talks and Rob and Mark were up first. It was actually quite a serious talk. They got into the nitty gritty of the Hollywood industry and talked about auditions and how cut-throat the whole thing is.

Rob, I can't remember why, started talking about the earthquake kit he has to keep in his house and laughed because he put microwave popcorn in it totally not thinking that there won't be electricity after a major earthquake. Mark mentioned the one we had over here and asked how bad it was. Most people said they slept through it. LOL! It woke me up.

Both of them said they admired our stamina for partying all night and then turning up to the talk

They talked about how they got into acting and both agreed that it's a calling rather than a decision. It's so hard to break into that only people who really want it and believe it's the only thing they want to do should do it. Rob said he'd been acting since before he used to know what it was. When he was a kid he pretended to be a whole baseball team and pitched the ball at the wall and then batted and ran.

They also talked about lying on their resume. Rob pretended he knew how to ski and got cast in a commercial where he had to do it. Everything was fine until at the end of the day the director told them to ski down the mountain to get back to the hotel. Rob got stuck and had to be rescued.

After that it was time for the coffee lounge with Sam. It was really interesting. We spent about ten minutes talking about history and politics because Sam didn't really get how the UK is made up with the different countries and how the politics of it all works. Then we talked about sport for a while, mostly football and Sam chatted a bit about the Olymics in Vancouver.

Finally she was all 'Right, we should probably talk about the show' LOL

She affirmed what everyone else says about Jared and Jensen. They are extremely down to earth and easy to work with. She put that down partially to there not being many women on the show as it's the women who tend to be more diva. She said if Jared and Jensen are having a bad day they'll go and have a drink in their trailer or ride their little scooters around and be back 30 minutes later totally fine.

They really are the best of friends. She said that in the whole time she's known them she has never once see them have a fight. They'll tell each other if they're being stupid but it's always done like friends. She said she really thought things would fall apart when they started living together given that they already spend 18 hours a day together on set, but apparently it made no difference whatsoever. They really are as close as brothers.

She said they don't live together now that they're both married

She then told us about something that was filmed but never made it to camera. You know the scene in Abandon All Hope where Cas and Ellen are doing shots. Well while the director was filming something else he told Sam and Misha to just ad lib whatever the hell they wanted as it was just going to be in the background of Dean hitting on Jo (they must have revised that later because in the final version Jo is watching them)

Anyway, Sam said that they talked all sorts of crap and then they started talking about sex.

Ellen: Are you starting to feel anything yet?
Cas: I'm not sure. What does getting drunk feel like?
Ellen: It's kind of hard to describe. Think about the first time you had sex. You HAVE had sex, right?
Cas: I'm not sure. I don't think so.
Ellen: Oh
Cas: *pauses* Would you like to have sex?
Ellen: *knocks back several shots*

Oh, how I wish it had made it to screen. It was hilarious the way Sam acted out Ellen being all freaked out about being propositioned by an angel

I thought it was such a great story I got her to tell it again in her joined panel with Chad which was right after the coffee lounge. It was really awesome. Glad I did it.

I asked Sam and Chad if there was anything that hadn't made it onto our screens that they wish had been included. Sam talked about the original version of Ash who was apparently way more over the top than the version we finally got. She liked original Ash and said he was really fun. She knew what I was trying to get her to say though so she retold the story of Ellen/Cas.

During Sam and Chad's talk Rob had his coffee lounge. I didn't go to it but damn I wish I had as this is where the tale of Misha and the stripper came out. I'm going to copy it from [livejournal.com profile] littlehollyleaf's journal as she was there so has a better account than me trying to remember what people told me

The story aka "Strippers, Sammy. Actual strippers."

They had broken from the con for the night (I'm afraid I don't know which con it was, just that it was in Australia) and Misha was telling Rob and Julie [edit: [info]indehed reminds me that Julie's then finance, now husband, was also part of the group - my apologies for forgetting] about this bar he'd found in town that they just HAD to go to. So he drags them to this bar, but it's well after 1am at this point and, naturally enough, the bar's closed. Misha is adamant they are going to have a drink out though and eventually they find another bar.

Except it's not a bar, it's a strip club. It takes them a while to realise from looking outside because, as Rob explained, strip clubs in Australia are not the same as the ones in America because there are no obvious pictures of scantily clad women on the outside.

Once they realised it was a strip club, Rob was saying he was the 'prude' (direct quote :p) of the group, trailing behind and saying things like 'Um... you guys? This is... You know this is a strip club, right? It's... Are you sure we should...?' (he did a quick impression of himself here that was adorable and very much like Chuck ♥) Misha, of course, brushed his complaints aside and they went in anyway, got a drink and proceeded to watch the girls do their thing around the stages and poles and whatever. Rob mentioned that it didn't feel too sleezy because Julie [edit: and finance] was there with them.

What was amazing to Rob, however, was the way Misha was acting, being completely cool about the whole thing and trying to have serious conversations with the girls while they danced, asking about what they did outside of stripping and stuff (he did a brief impression of Misha here, which was also adorable :p). And if that wasn't enough, he explained that Misha actually managed to talk one of the girls out of her clothes! Which was especially impressive because the place was supposed to be limited to topless reveals, only Misha kept asking the girl attending them how much it would take to get her to strip completely, all charming and shameless, and actually went to change some of his coins to dollars for her - because the place didn't take the coins they had, they discovered part way through - and eventually the girl did do a full-frontal strip for them!

Wow, right? Only that's not all! While they were there (it's unclear whether this was before or after the full strip) Misha decided he really needed to tweet the experience to his minions and he got Julie and Rob in on this and they spent quite a long time thinking up the best tweet for him to use. Misha eventually came up with - 'Fun fact: The weird thing about Australian strippers is they spin around the pole in the opposite direction.' Which Rob thought was hilarious. I had only a vague memory of this tweet at the time and asked if anyone else there remembered it (we were pretty much all minions :p) and nearly the whole table confirmed that they'd read it and we all expressed delight at having the full story.

~fin~

SO. MUCH. LOVE.

So after Sam and Chad's talk it was time for me to get my autographs from everyone. I never no what to say in this autograph lines but luckily I had stuff to say on behalf of other people. Got in line for Rob first and asked him if there was a way to send fanmail to the band because [livejournal.com profile] kaylbunny wanted to write to them. He very kindly wrote down an e mail address on a post-it note for me. I still have it *g* Rob also does this very sweet thing where he makes sure to read the names of everyone he's signing for. Just as I left he said 'Thanks Hils' which was kind of weird but also kind of awesome.

After that I went to see Sam as she had no one in her line and I said hello from [livejournal.com profile] qthelights. Sam remembered her and said to say hi back.

Chad grinned when he saw our photo op and said it was awesome.

Mark was chatting to the woman in front of me and just sort of drew me into the conversation. I can't even remember what it was about now. LOL.

The con ended with a group talk from everyone. At the beginning they were asked to sign the poster behind them as it had been auctioned off. Rob signed right next to Jensen's face and said 'Oh, now it looks like I'm him. I don't know why I signed so close to Jensen' Sam said 'It's because you're boyfriends' We laughed.

They talked about the supernatural. Chad says he sees a lot of ghosts, Sam said she saw the ghost of her father not long after he died, Mark said he and his brother both saw a woman walk through a wall when they were kids. Rob didn't really have anything

Rob said his party piece was bad dancing from the 80s and proceeded to demonstrate The Running Man

And that was about all I can remember. We ended with a group shot of all of us and went out seperate ways

Oh, and this is the photo of me and Rob in the fandom shrine corner of my room
