Wha?

Does anyone know how LJ works out when to add a second page of comments? I thought it was down to numbers but I've got one post with 50 comments that has just gone onto two pages, but another post a did a while back that went to over 100 comments but is all still on one page

I don't get it

It only puts comments on the second page if you have more than 25 individual comments that are direct replies to your entry instead of responds to comments.
