I saw this in
qthelights journal and it's definitely something I need to keep telling myself, especially when I'm doing one of my fairly regular 'omg the entire internet is a better writer than me' downers
You may think your fic is crap. You may have been told that by asshats on anon memes. To some people, your writing may actually be crap. But to a lot of people it won't be. It will be the thing they read at just the right moment. That hit the right spot. The fic that pulled them through a bad day. The story that resonates with their life. The bit of fluff or porn that became an escape. Maybe it doesn't change their life, but it could form part of their happy memories. It could be something they only read once or return over and over to reread. If people have commented on your fic? There's a fair chance it means a lot to some people. And remember, for everyone that comments there are 50 that don't. Don't dismiss your readers just because you can't see them.
I think they are wise words *nods*
