The rules:
1. Open your music program. (iTunes, etc).
2. Hit "shuffle."
3. List the first five songs that it lists, and then give me a pairing to match the song, and why you think it does, and then give me one line from the song to back it up. Then, post the results in your own LJ and tag five people! Maybe it will give you a bunny or give you a nudge on that languishing fic!
Here's mine:
1. Can't Fight This Feeling - REO Speedwagon
2. Black Velvet - Alannah Myles
3. For Tomorrow - Blur
4. Redeemer - Marilyn Manson
5. One Sweet Love - Sara Bareilles
The Pairings:
1. Jared/Jensen. Well, this is easy because this song was the entire basis of my big bang fic last year. As soon as I heard it I imagined Jensen singing it about Jared.
"What started out as friendship has grown stronger, I only wish I had the strength to let it show."
2. Buffy/Spike. I don't know, the lyrics for this are quite weird and I don't really know what it's about. But this line made me think of Buffy and Spike
"The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything. Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for black velvet."
3. Dean/Castiel. The song is technically about modern life but it can also be seen as life during the apocalypse
"And so we hold each other tightly, and hold on for tomorrow."
4. Sam/Ruby. I don't really ship them, and the song is actually about vampirism but it just fits with S4 Sam.
"The hunger inside given to me, makes me what I am."
5. Clark/Lex. The lyrics are about a relationship that is not what the singer thought love would be. And this line is so Superman
"No ordinary wings I'll need, the sky itself will carry me back to you."
