I swear I'm a moron sometimes. I just sat through two episodes of The Catherine Tate Show in the hope that Colin Morgan's episode would show up (even though I've already seen it) when I could have just watched an episode of Merlin. LOL.
The BBC have done a new production of Emma which started tonight. Overall I think I liked it, although I am a huge fan of the film with Gwyneth Paltrow (is that a mortal sin?). I actually think the girl playing Harriet (who was in an episode of Merlin btw) would have been more suited to playing Emma and vice versa. It's probably really mean and shallow but everyone keeps talking about what a beauty Emma is and the actress playing her is really odd looking!
I can't quite decide whether I like Johnny Lee Millar's Mr Knightly but that's possibly because I had a huge crush on the Jeremy Northam Knightly when I was a teenager.
Tamsin Grieg appears to be doing an impression of Sophie Thompson's Miss Bates and Michael Gambon is being seriously underused as Mr Woodhouse
That being said I did like it despite all those little grumbles. I absolutely loved the opening which clearly sets everything up and makes it clear who everyone is from the beginning.
jacqui_hw pointed out and I agree that it's quite confusing trying to work out who everyone is and how they are connected to everyone else sometimes. I also loved the little scenes that don't actually have Emma in them. Rare because obviously it's her story but I thought it was a nice touch.
Must definitely try and remember to watch the next part next week.
Has anyone else heard that the guy who wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is now writing Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. Methinks the novelty has worn off. Once is an interesting idea, twice is just a one trick pony.
And aparently Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is also being turned into a film.
