She did a poll about the episode and one of the questions was whether we thought the future we saw was real or just something created by Zachariah to manipulate Dean.
It's a tricky one. I was pretty much on board with it being real until future!Dean started hammering home that past!Dean should agree to be Michael's vessel. It just seemed a bit too forceful. On the other hand I can well believe that Dean would want to sacrifice himself to keep the world from falling into hell and to save Sam from becoming Lucifer's vessel.
I appreciate that (and excuse the T2 quote) the future is not set in stone and there is no fate but what we make for ourselves but I can well believe that had Sam and Dean not reunited the Dean we would have been left with would be the one we saw in 2014.
And I said this in my original reaction post but to me future!Cas is a clear byproduct of past!Dean's influence. Taking aside the angels leaving do you think Cas would have sought comfort in sex if Dean hadn't taken him to a brothel? And how would Zachariah have known about that to shape future!Cas into something believeable?
What do you think? Real or not?
