Sep. 1st, 2009 10:58 pm4. The first/best video game you ever played
*launches into a history of me and gaming*
My dad is a geek. He is largely responsible for my tech obsession. We have had a computer as long as I can remember and I was the only person I know to get a Brownie badge in computer programming (and they really struggled to find someone who wasn't my dad to test me on it)
But mostly we used the computer for playing games and I have been gaming in one form or another since I was about five years old. So, naturally, remembering the first video game I ever played is kind of tricky
There was a game on the Commodore 64 called Finder's Keepers where you played a knight and had to collect stuff and I remember playing that a lot. It was certainly one of the earliest games I remember playing and may have been the first but we're talking about 25 years ago. LOL!
The best game is much easier for me. Tomb Raider 2. Obviously it's dated now but at the time it was state of the art and I absolutely LOVED it! Spent many, many frustrating months trying to complete it and as soon as I did I started over with the mission of finding all the secrets. In the end I'd played it so many times I knew where all the secrets were and could walk most levels with my eyes closed
The whole Tomb Raider franchise still has a lot of love from me. Tomb Raider Legend was also amazing and had the added bonus of being about King Arthur
...why do I not still have a geeky/gaming icon?
