I still can't decide whether I like the whole 'Mary was a hunter' twist. Was it really necessary?

Samuel and Deanna. God, how did I miss that the first time around. Why are Sam and Dean both named after Mary's family anyway? Doesn't John have anyone?

Aww! Poor Dean finding out that Mary's worst fear is her children becoming hunters. Poor woobie.

Aww! When Castiel puts his hand on Dean's shoulder and Dean looks so sad I really thought they were going to hug. LOL! Actually, Cas looks really sorry there so maybe this is when he starts to feel something for Dean. Maybe.

What I said the first time around:

Castiel is hot. I am so going to hell.

I loved this episode! I loved the back to the future jokes, and Mary being a hunter and John being hot (and kudos to them for finding an actor who looks like a cross between Jared and Jenson)

It was just awesome!

Well, I couldn't spell Jensen's name for a start. LOL!

I don't think I liked it so much on a second viewing to be honest. I didn't dislike it but it was just fairly average.


I'm finding it fascinating watching Ruby now to see if it's obvious that she's working for Lilith

Oh, if Dean had just killed her here it would have saved everyone a lot of angst.

Godamn it I hate it when they punch each other.

First use of Dean's nickname for Castiel. He must like him now *g*

Poor Sam. He looks so broken knowing that God doesn't want him to use his powers. Poor boy needs a hug.

This episode is kind of gross. Like so many SPN eps. LOL!

You know I love the show, but it's never exactly subtle is it? OOH, Sam is angsting about using his powers so let's have an episode about a guy who may or may not have a choice about whether he becomes a monster or not

Ah, well, at least they're quickly acknowledging the unsubtlty of the story. Either that or Dean is explaining it for any thickies who didn't work it out already

When I said this episode was gross I mean really, REALLY gross.

What I said the first time around:

Ok, first of all am I the only one amused that Dean now calls Castiel 'Cass'. Hee!

I'm actually quite surprised Sam and Dean had this discussion so soon, although I'm sure it's far from over. I thought they'd have Sam being all covert for a bit longer. I dunno.

Anyway, this episode definitely had the squick factor. I'm glad I wasn't eating while I watched it. LOL!

I wonder where things are going to go from here. That barrier is between the boys now and I suspect it will be there for a long time to come. Sam says he's decided not to use his powers any more, and I'm not sure I believe him. I certainly think Ruby will have a thing or two to say about it.

The more I think about it the more suspicious I am about Castiel. I think there's more to him than just a plain old Angel of the Lord.

We shall see...

Interestingly goth_clark is polling at the moment about whether it's spelt 'Cass' or 'Cas'.

OMG! Who was it on my flist that decided with me that Castiel was actually Lucifer pretending to be an angel? I was convinced for weeks there was going to be a shocking reveal before the end of the season. Hehe!

Well, that was fun.

Interestingly I did not review this episode the first time around because I did not like it at all. I must have been in a bad mood or something. I dunno.


At the time I thought it was strange (and badly paced) to have two funny episodes in a row. bogwitch said that initially ep 3 was supposed to be Monster Movie but the studio changed it around for unknown reasons.

Aww! I want fic where Cas shows up while Dean is suffering from ghost sickness

I love Dean's whiny 'I don't wanna be a clue'

Sam is not being very sympathetic to his brother who is scared out of his mind and will die in 24 hours

Dean screaming at the cat will never stop being funny! Hee! I remember in the deancastiel chat room where I made everyone play the .wav file at me before I would choose Dean/Castiel over Spike/Buffy in the ship manifesto poll.

And I love the gag reel version with extra flailing and Dean jumping onto Sam

Ah, I like how they tied this in with what Dean did in Hell. I missed that the first time around. That's why Dean got infected and Sam didn't

And we end with Jensen's Eye of the Tiger which is still awesome!

What I said the first time around:

This whole episode was made brilliant by Dean screaming the sight of a cat. Hehe!!!

I loved that even though most of the episode was funny it took a darker turn at the end. Of course Dean is most scared of Lilith and going back to hell. That sort of thing is seriously going to fuck you up

What I found even more interested was Dean's fear that Sam is going to turn into a demon. I know it's kind of obvious but I had never really thought about it before. Hey, I'm not the sharpest tool in the box. LOL!

But, yes, liked it

Other than that looks like my thoughts were pretty much the same as they were on the first viewing
