Well, that was a fucking depressing hour of television.

I think yavannauk nicely said everything that I feel about this series

Whatever the hell that was, it wasn't Torchwood. Essentially, they systematically destroyed everything that made the show what it was - the Hub, the team (not just by killing Ianto, but also by completely breaking Jack), the underlying sense of humour... Yes, it may have been an excellent piece of drama - and for perhaps the first time I truly thought Gwen was excellent in this - but in no way was it what I've always watched Torchwood for. I want those five hours of my life back, please!

Seriously, was there any point to this other than destroying everything we love about this show? Was there a deep underlying message other than 'politicians are bastards'?

You know, I kind of hope there isn't any more now. I'll stick with seasons 1 and 2 thanks.

Well, I guess that leaves another hole in my schedule for a new fandom. What shall I fill it with?
