Ok, here are the photos from my trip yesterday. This is NOT a dialup friendly post. Just shy of 30 pics under the cut

Robin Hood's Bay just as we arrived

Heading down to the sea. It's not a dirty beach btw. That's mostly seaweed and silt

Derek checking the rockpool for 'beasties'

Climbing over the rocks was a scary experience. LOL!

The village. Note the sky getting darker

I started to get a bad feeling

But still managed to smile for a photo, even though the thunder had already started

Yikes!

The boys got their umbrellas out

We got soaked but took refuge in a shop. The storm moved away

Less than an hour later the sky looked like this

We headed back down to the beach

That's where we'd been standing when the storm hit

Moi

Lovely blue sky

Moi again

The village looking brighter

Derek gleefully throwing rocks into a pool and trying to splash Lord Matthew

Me and the sea

Derek tries to push Lord Matthew into the water

Hee! The tied came in while the boys were messing around and they got cut off from the shore

Wading was required

I was already back on dry land so just watched them with amusement

From my comfy rock

The village from the top of the hill, with the sea in the background

The same view as the first photo, only now the tide has come in

The Hole of Horcum. I was (erroniously) told this was caused by a meteor hitting but the interwebs tell me it's been caused by natural erosion.
