Went to see Stardust tonight and it was great! Saw
gledster2000 while I was there and I have to say a big thanks and give a virtual hug! (He knows why)
Now, I have read the book of this but it was a long time ago and I can't remember a huge amount about it. Maybe when I get to the end of my huge 'to read' pile I'll read it again.
Was Captain Shakespeare gay in the book? Either way it was brilliant! I had my doubts about Robert De Niro but he was excellent. Perfect comedy and I loved Dexter Fletcher as his second in command. The bit at the end where he was flirting with Hugh was priceless!
Michelle Pfeiffer was also surprisingly excellent.
Clare Danes was pretty good and her accent wasn't at all bad.
The scenery was stunning and the effects were great.
Ricky Gervais was just playing himself. At least he got killed ;)
It was kind of fun spotting all the familiar faces in bit-parts though.
The sword fight between Septimus's corpse and Tristan was especially cool (and also kind of gross)
All films should have Sky Pirates. LOL.
The guy playing Tristan was pretty.
Already looking forward to this coming out on DVD
Ros phoned me on my way to the cinema and asked if we could meet tonight as she has to babysit tomorrow. Which means I now have tomorrow night free to watch Heroes, Chuck and work on my fic. YAY!!!
Saw a trailer for The Golden Compass (Northern Lights! Grr!) and all I can say is OOOOOOH!!!! *is excited*
