Wherein I consider my life

hilsI have to make some career decisions in the next few months. The project I am currently working on will likely end some time next year (but then it might not) and after that I have to decide what I want to do with my career.
Essentially I need to have a goal and then work will look at putting me into a role that fits with where I want to be in 5 years. Problem is I don't actually know.
I like my job. I like going out and fixing machines. I get to meet lots of people and learn a lot through hands on experience. Problem is the company is looking to move away from that and have the majority of problems resolved remotely via a central helpdesk. I've worked on a switchboard before and it's not the most fun and stimulating work so I don't think I want to do that.
I'm considering getting into training. I fancied being a teacher for ages but the kids and OFSTED kind of put me off. Training adults could be more my cup of tea. It'll mean I get to travel a lot which I love and I'll get to meet lots of new people which I also love.
It's something to consider anyway. It's been so long since I've been asked what I want to do for a living I've never even thought about it. LOL
